1998 BMW M3,3.2 liter inline 6, mods to engine and car. City about 22, hwy most I've ever seen is 29. But then that all depends on how hard I push the loud pedal.

The most efficient car I have only gets 18mpg. The worst gets under 14mpg, but at least it runs on regular. The others take premium. The erratic curves are due to changing driving habits from tank to tank. Most of my driving is short trips in town, and a single long highway jaunt can skew the numbers quite a bit. Even the 14mpg vehicle can hit 26mpg on a long road trip.

2002 Ford Ranger - Old driving habits: 18 New driving habits: 20-21. (I no longer stomp on the gas leaving lights and try to keep my rmps below 3k for all acceleration and I also stick the cruise on 61mph.)

1992 Suzuki VX800 - 52mpg.

2001 Infiniti QX4 - 17mpg

1973 Dodge Dart - 18mpg

We're in the market for another vehicle and should get close to 30mpg average on that.

My truck gets about 3 gallons per mile.

It's an old '87. But, what a workhorse. Wouldn't trade it for anything....well, except for a new 9 seater Suburban.
