2010 Camaro Mark Up
[Some Camaro fans are finding that out right now as some Chevrolet dealers add a “market adjustment price” to the 2010 Camaro that’s sitting on their lot. Some Chevrolet dealers have no problem selling the cars for MSRP, but in today’s market some dealers need every dollar they can make to keep the lights on. In some cases the market is driving some markups. As you know there are folks that have to be the first on the block, or the first in the car club to have the latest performance car and they will stop at nothing to get it.
Our advice to those that can wait is to wait. Let the “big spenders” pay the $25,000 and up market adjustment for the first 2010 Camaro. In six months we believe prices will start to fall. You might have to drive three states over to purchase a car but affordable 2010 Camaros should be around in November.] above just copied and pasted from another forum but i find it interesting that this is going on i talked to a friend who is always cruising the car lots and he said a new camara on the lot sticker was 29000 but it had a 3500 dollar mark up for a total of 32500

Makes sense especially in this climate. If people are still willing to pay the current mark up then they'll probably mark it up even further.

A fool and his money will soon be parted...
I'd wait if I were those folks... Its not like it is a "limited edition" car. Plus the first model year of any re-design usually sucks anyways. Let them figure out where the bugs are first (at least that's what I'd do...)

I know a guy who paid 60K for a Challenger when they first came out. He claims it's valuable because it's numbered, whatever that means.

I still doubt that it will appreciate in value like a '70 through '74 Challenger.

Exactly. But you could also have said the same thing about all those that went out and bought the iPhone the day it went on sale. There's a certain groups that always wants the latest and the greatest and is willing to spend the money to get it. |

If it's gonna sell... eventually production will catch up to demand. Obviously Nintendo has a good grasp on this because they are STILL selling Wii's for $249.99 into the 3rd (maybe 4th.. I dunno) year of production and they are still flying off the shelves. (but those folks who paid 3x as much just to get the "first one"... well they're the fools who have parted with their money.) |
