Cars listed on Craigslist

With the economy in the tank, do you think that cars advertised on Craigslist are selling, especialy higher priced cars?

I would imagine that obtaining a loan for a private sale would be more difficult than, say a year ago.

Any thoughts?

Depends on your credit rating. If you're pretty stable, you can get a loan. The bank/credit union will write him a check for the full amount.

If you can get the cash from your banking institution, then it doesn't matter if the car is a private sale or from a used lot since the bank will still hold the title as collateral.

I have had a hard time finding a decent used 02 or 03 civic ex. Everytime there is a decently priced one (~$6k) with around 100k miles listed on CL it is usually gone within 12-48 hrs at least in the DC metro area. This is especially true if it is FSBO.
