Ooo me rikey, hehe. Not much a big fan of Japanese autos, but supras can get pretty sweet when they got like 600 or more hp. Hell I'm waiting on seeing what nutcases do with the IS300. I hear of a 500-600 hp kit. Afterall the engine is heavily supra influenced. Anyhow I still prefer stuff from the land of polka and brawtwurst.

That's a nice one. There's a longer, more complete video of that somewhere.

There's already 600+hp to the wheels is300's out there.

Dont get me wrong or anything, I love german cars. I probably wont buy anything but german cars for a long time, but you just cant do as much with them as you can with japanese cars. If you want to do anything out of the ordinary, it usually has to be a custom job. its almost impossible to find bolt on kits for 3 series bimmers, but you can easily find one for a civic or a cavilier. The things you cant bolt on to a car is what makes german cars great though. its pretty impossible to find a car with the feel and response of a bmw or an audi.

Bah, who cares about aftermarket products honestly. Ze Germans make them good enough stock. Okay, sure you can technically never have enough hp, but Take a Porsche Turbo for instance (any year any model). I honestly don't know what more you would want to do to it besides maybe lighten it and put a roll cage. . . if you're that serious in racing. But those hondas and other cars, they have a lotta options 'cause they are engineered for high performance, they're originally meant for commuting. Thtas my beef with them. Oh and for you that say, well the German cars are a lot more costlier. . . well then, look into some of those maddly pimped out Japanese cars. . . They're no baragin. Especially since anything you modify will void the warranty while your stock german car will still be covered under warranty.

Oh and also, Look into the Audi/VW 1.8t engine. That lil 4 potter has waaaay to many mods available. IMHO I don't know if you would want any more options, gets a lil' confusing ya know. Plus this is the plus on German engineering, 20 valves in a four potter, yes thats a five valve per cylinder motor. What other car has that kind of performance? Uh, Ferrari and F1 cars. . . correct me if I'm wrong please but thats about it I believe.

Also, Got|BMW? Hmm just to name a few companies that specialize in BMW modding: Hartge, Alpina, etc. Got|Merc? well then look into RennTech and tahts all you'll need. Anyhow what I'm trying to point out is sure there aren't as many aftermarket products available, but there are companies that dedicate to working these pieces of machinery more specialized. And sure it costs more, but thats why the car is good as it is usually stock. My wortless two lyra.

nope, definately not worthless spigidygak, but that was my point. i Got|Bimmer (hopefully Got|500Benz soon too) and its super hard to find a turbo for my car. i love my car stock, as ive beaten many american stock pony cars without much hassle, but i love more the idea of [rrr rRR RRR]MORE HORSEPOWER[/rrr rRR RRR]. these parts are hard to find, non existant, uber expensive or an even more uber expensive custom job. now, its definately impossible to argue with porsche (of course RUF does a great job of that), and yes vw/audi do have many options availible, but modding any german cars is a pretty expensive propisition. the good part is that if you do mod your car, pretty much nobody will have a setup like yours and it should be even better than what you started out with. all of your points are valid, and i dont disagree with any of them, i just wish that there were some more options availible. i mean, there is simply no way i can afford to give a car over to renntech and say make it 5 seconds faster cuz they expensive like crazy, you know. same with companies like dinan, ruf, etc...

renntech... i would **** if a four door benz, with four people, with the stereo on, and the a/c on max pulled up next to me and embarrassed me... and i have 470hp at the rear wheels.

sweet cars, but they start at 150k or something insane.

for what you described shoeish, a four door benz, such as an RennTECH E7.4, you would be lookin at $300,000+. and by the way, for that price, it should keep up with a corvette or just slightly beat a vette in a DRAG race, with 3 passengers, a\c and radio on. that means no turning. the suspension isnt as good as a vette to keep up with it on a real racetrack. plus its something like twice the weight and more comfy.

Hehe, their latest merc tourer could beat a stock corvette I believe. w00t, not only five passengers comfortably, you could bring along fido too! Hehe.

But yeah, price is an issue. Also. . . why go turbo honestly? I mean to be hypocritical I do have an Audio A4 1.8t, but I'm a NA fan. Get a supercharger for yer lil' beemah shouldn't be as much of a headache as a turbo. Even though after that, chips do wonders on turbos. For about $600 or less I can get a chip that'll boost me up about 37hp and 60 something lbs. of torque. Oh and which BMW you got?

actually, there's prolly 10 or 15 different "bolt-on kits" for my type of 3series car. The old 91 and older 3series have soo many options now... The body style is almost "datless"... the things look like they could fit in in the "new" market from early 80's to late 90's, even though they stopped the body style in 91. Plus, many of the BMW e30 enthusiasts are making their Own kits, and then producing them and marketing them. And yes, there's even some "rice" BMW kits too

i have a 96 3 series. there are plenty of body kits around, but body kits only do so much. they help with air flow and a few good ones help with aerodynamics, but they are mostly for looks. i like the stock 3 series look just fine, id like to find some more engine enhancements. i have seen some chips, including some custom ones, so thats not a problem, air intake can be taken care of by k&n. there are also plenty of muffler options availible. all this can add anywhere from 20 to 60 hp, which is a lot. ive heard of a company which makes turbos for my car, but as far as i know, that company has only made 3 units. i havent been able to find any headers or anything and im not really interested in putting nitro into my car. im still very content with it and probably wont do anything until i get an m3. im also looking for a mercedes 500e, but those are hard as hell to find.

Not really considering what some people put into their cars, body kits, new paint jobs, turbos, nitros, polishes, rims, etc. It all adds up man.

True dat DF, but my point wasn't that everybody pimps out their cars to the extreme. Just comparing apples to oranges is all. But when people want to get real performance out of their cars, then they start spending the dough. $75k is more than what i was talking about. You can have a serious 3 series for around $50k. An A4 with lots of power on a very nice chasis for about $40k. So, when it comes to comparing then. . . its very similar in prices then. Do you get what my point is now?

Nope just wishful thinking is me. Just got an A4 though. . . only spent $26k out the door. Basically its your base model with nothing in it but sport package. All I need now is some cash for a chip. . . And yes damn this "real world" hehe.

Nice. . . except I hope those aren't blue bulbs. . . *sigh* I wish them peoples would realize having blue bulbs is more dangerous and not brighter than regular bulbs. . . oh well. . . I guess not all of us take physics and study the behaviour of light waves.
