has any one installed a cd changer in their glove box?
where is a good place for a changer? |

unfortunately my glove box isnt big enough for my changer, i just keep it in the trunk...

I put a 6 disk changer in the glovebox of my contour, and still had room for other stuff. Never skipped, and very handy to switch cassettes.

In my new car I no longer have room for a changer in the glovebox, nor anywhere up front, so I am selling my cd changer and buying an in dash mp3 cd player. I figure one MP3 cd should last at least 9 hours @ 160kbps, where the most six cd's willprovide is 8 hours. (80 minutes x 6). Plus I can see the titles off all the tracks.

A buddy has an Alpine deck in his Integra's glovebox. Heck he didn't even bolt it in place(and it rarely skips). Hope that helps.

I have my CD changer in my glovebox. Actually, it's the first Mercedes to ever have it in the glove box. Why did MB think that having a trunk mounted CD changer would make more sense?

only problem with my glove is that I have to cut a hole for it to fit in! I was looking for other spots

Only as much as it does any cd player, meaning that warm cd's in a cold cd player might not be too friendly.
I wouldn't mount the cd player outside of the car though.  |

yeah, freakinfreak's isnt bolten down either and doesn't skip. nice piece of machinery he's got there. anyhow, i know my friend put his under the passanger seat because it's hard to see and hard to steal (in his case). he has a civic, has a stock radio put in with cd-changer controls and put the changer under the seat because he figures that people won't want to steal a stock honda radio. (his brother and sister both have honda's that had in-dash cd-players stolen)

my dad has his in his trunk and it works quite nicely. it's not hard to run the wore. don't be intimidated.
as for changers being affected by cold temps, there's no problem. don't worry.
