Anybody autocross/race? Post some vids/picts/sounds
Here I am in my 95 Ford Contour autocrossing at Douglas (WY) International Raceway.
You must copy the link and paste it into your address bar for these to work. This is doing a 180 degree turn with a radius of one cone... exit speed about 15mph, shift is at 45 or so. 65 when I let off. http://www.geocities.com/shoeish/incar.mp3 Quick downshift outside the car: http://www.geocities.com/shoeish/outcar.mp3 A bit of drifting, then full throttle through first and shift into second, from outside of the car.http://www.geocities.com/shoeish/outcar2.mp3 This is what dragstrips are good for. Here is some autocross footage showing handling. http://www.geocities.com/shoeish/lowqual.zip

Yes, this was my first season auto-x'ing. I did about 5 events this year. There is a shot of me running on my car's website: http://www.vidavision.com/hobbies/shaggymatt/
I just do it for fun, but with all my mods I'm in the SM class, so I don't stand much of a chance. Although, even on my street tires and this being my first season, I was coming within a few tenths of the past state champions. So maybe if I had R compounds, I'd be much more closely matched to them. |
