How to remove dealer name sticker?

Bought a new car, and they put a dumb@ss sticker of the Dealership's name on the back. If they want me to advertise for them, they need to pay me. Anyone know of a good way to remove these? It just plastic letters, but stuck on really good. Thanks.

try bug and tar remover to get the sticky off after you peel them off.

Mayo is supposed to work, as is WD40. YMMV.

Is it like a badge from the manufacturer? If so, you'll need a blow dryer or heat gun, goo gone, car wax, and lots o' elbow grease. Its also best to do it on a warm day if possible. Here's what you do:

First heat up the badge with the blow dryer/heatgun, be careful not to get it too hot and ruining your paint
When its warm start to peel it off, it should be fairly easy
after it comes off, use the goo gone to get rid of the residue
wax the area the badge was, hell wax your whole car while you're at it,
Thanks folks. It feels like a plastic sticker with really good adhesive. I'm having a hard time just trying to lift the edges with me finger nails. Will try the heat, will let you know if I will need to hunt down spigidygak for persuading me to use a heatgun...

In keeping with my hair dryer tradition, I find that using one to heat it up really helps to take it off.

i say goo gone too, but i got a better method...

drive back to the dealership, walk up to anyone who works there and point to the sticker and say "Take this **** off of my fuking brand new car! I didn't pay you so I could advertise for you, bitch!" The 'bitch' part is optional, but adds a good effect. I hate when dealers do that crap with stickers.

The only prob is, I'm in such a good mood from buying the car, It's hard to call them biotches. Besides, I'd hate to piss them off and then let them have at the car.

I wouldn't do that, they don't have to live with the car if they are careless, do it yourself. I never did it with heat but that seems like a very good suggestion along with the goo. I work with mica and patience and mineral spirits along with heat easily remove a layer of mica. I would never use a heat gun, they are way too hot, use a hair dryer but keep it a good distance from the sticker.
Is goo or bug remover like mineral spirits? Mineral spirits shouldn't damage the paint, it's a mild solvent.

You should have asked them to take it off before you bought it. Then, if it was all f'd up say you want it fixed befor you buy it. Oh well, try one of the suggestions, I guess.

not really...if you take it in to get the sticker removed and they f it up, it's their fault and they'd better fix it. simple as that.

Dealership with good sense

The dealer I got my car from had the good sense or taste to not stick anything on the car itself, rather, they have a plastic license plate holder on the back with their name on it. Of course, that is easily removed to have a nice, clean car without ads.

Crow Brothers Toyota, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by the way....

Thumbs up

Dudes, yes, I was an idiot for not demanding them to take if off. I was exhausted after wrasling with the drunken Irish salesman for two hours to get him to sell it to me for below invoice, only to have the Manager come-out and say they could sell at invoice, not below. Anyways, the sticker is off. If you want it done right, do it yourself I always say.
