Need Advice: Car for sale
My sister is selling her 92 BMW 325i. We don't really know how much to sell it for- Any estimates?
BMW 525i - (sorta looks like this car) Forest Green Black Leather Interior (interior in good condition) Auto Transmission Dinan Engine Chip (i think) M3 Suspension and Eibach springs Problems- Front Quarter panel has small dent (probably 100 to repair) AC Condenser needs to be fixed (compressor is fine) One of the front Fog Lights are broken. Everything about the car is stock though, with the exception of the modifications. So, the car looks pretty normal. Should I fix the problems and sell the car, should she just use it as a trade in? HOw much do you think it would cost to fix the car and sell it or is it just worthile to sell teh car as is?

www.kbb.com will list the trade-in value and retail value for the car. You'll do much better by selling it yourself rather than trading it in. You can also go to autotrader.com to see what similar cars are listing for in your area.
Up to you on whether you want to spend the money to fix it. I've always had my cars' problems fixed before I've sold them. Usually people want to see the "finished product" they are buying. |

You're better off fixing the small things yourself and then selling it. People will try to nickle and dime you when they see the tiny things.

I agree with Brian, fix what you can. As for pricing, visit www.edmunds.com for REAL pricing. KBB is full of crap as are both the Blue Book and the allegedly dealer only Black Book.
But print the KBB pricing to show since you're SELLING. This was the ripoff is to your benefit and the buyers detriment. |
