for mods, do simple things first: intake(~$100), exhaust(~$200-300) and chip(dont know how much, anywhere from 100 to 500 bux). whats the warranty for the car since its used. if its a manufacturers warranty, there is a good chance most mods will void it. if its a dealer warrentee, they might not care. check out the details of the warrenty before you make any changes.

Well, considering it's the 5 valve Audi engine in that car, exhaust/intake isn't really going to accomplish much. I know if you chip that car, it'll get to around 200hp. There really aren't alot of cheap mods for that car b/c it isn't very popular among tuners. Now, if you had the 1.8t, you'd have choices galore.

How much faster do you want to be?

gotta agree w/ blu here...not the most popular tuning engine. i'd look around for a chip and maybe an exhaust/intake...

although...i'm no expert on passats...you should head on over to www.vwvortex.com and dig around in the forums...i'm gonna go look around for ya as well.

Coming in a bit late here... but I'll take a stab.

Here is my Passat: http://www.vidavision.com/hobbies/shaggymatt/ My wife has a '00 wagon with just a chip, filter, and some other minor mods.

Because I am going to be building a house here soon, I sold some of the "pretty" items. Basically if it wasn't making me any faster on the course, I sold it. If you want mods, you should have bought the 1.8T!

As for the V6, there is a supercharger kit made by PES-tuning. www.pes-tuning.com, I think that they are down to around $4,000 now. They include a one year warranty with the kit. Technically your warranty cannot be voided by such a kit unless it directly causes a related part to fail.

www.clubb5.com is where you want to go. Totally dedicated to the B5 model Passat.
