New Sound System courtesy of Al&EdsAutosound
I'm happy to say Apex does it again. I'm purchasing a new car this week and there is a sale at Al&Ed's. He's made my day. Well, I have some questions for you guys.
1. Channels. Amplifiers and even security systems have 1-3 channels. What do they do and what are they for? I only plan on 1 receiver. 2. Now lets say I get a cd receiver and an amp. I'm assuming that i can get a weak powered receiver since my more powerful amp would make up for it. Am I correct on that notion? 3. I beleive my car has 6 speakers. If I get an amp that says says 4x50w, what happens to the other 2 speakers. 4. I noticed that Rockford-Fosgates have rca inputs. Does this mean that i can hookup my ipod directly to the amp by a mic-rca cable? Thanks in advance and hopefully these questions help out other people too. |

1. Okay I realized that the channels are like channels for a home receiver. 2 channels = left and right speakers. And i'm guessing channels on a secrurity system is for certain functions, ie. lights flashing and a horn. So now that leads to question 3. Can i have 3 speakers on one channel? Then 90 watts on 1 channel would be split to the 3 speakers?
4. This seems possible, i'll just wire cable to the dash. If anyone could answer my third question, i'd really appreciate that.
