Tires? Which are good?
Need to replace tires on girlfriends Civic Coupe. I was thinking of these:
Dunlop SP Sport A2 or BFGoodrich BF Goodrich Control T/A M65 or Kumho Kuhmo Touring Plus 732 or any other. |

i'd recommend the kumho ecsta supra 711 but if you wanna step it up a little 712.
good handleing and above all GOOD wear rating. you will like it. ultra hi performance tire for CHEAP

i have those on my car, but wear is not good. my car is lowered. i got these in july 2001 and it's bald on the inside already. I think its because the rubber is softer. I had Nitto before this and I got 3 years of use.

Bridgestone S-03 if budget is not a problem.
or Kuhmo Supra 712 if budget is a factor. |

Dude, your tires aren't bald on the inside b/c of tire wear, they're bald b/c the car isn't aligned properly...

I currently have kumho now - the budget college student choice. They are not as grippy as BF tires I had before, but sometimes it is fun to have the car slide a little when you take a turn ~30 mph.

since my car is used a LOT for autocross... i use these "rubbers" on my car...
Falken Azenis. www.vulcantire.com and www.edgeracing.com both have good prices on them. They're about $45 each for 195/60/14's only problem is they have a treadwear rating of 200. I expect about 8k miles of use. Thats considering two auto-x events per month and daily driving to work etc. these tires are ALMOST as sticky as the Kuhmo Victoracers. Not a bad price for such good performance. ![]()

exactly how MUCH did you lower your car? did you cut the springs, or replace them with the correct lowered springs for your car? are your tires leaning IN towards teh car a LOT at the top? IF so, then definitely do something to correct the camber. It'll save your tires, and your car will handle better (assuming it has too much camber right now). |

i lowers it using Eibach's sportlines. it does have a negative camber but not that much. i was just surprised that my tires wore out so fast compared with my last set.

Didn't anyone tell you that lowering with the Sportlines will require you to get a camber kit? It's over a 2" drop, which is pretty significant. That's why I went with the Pro Kit. Still some negative camber, but very slight.

Well, if the camber is what you want, you should try and play with the tire pressure. That can change alot, and you can save a few rubber trees while your at it... |

i know, but tire wear was not that bad and my camber was slight too. my car's been lower for about 5 years now. it was just recently that i noticed excessive tire wear.. just trying to figure out if it was my kumho tires - estca supra. i do plan to put in a camber kit before i get new tires. |

camber kits, really sucks i think
they do prevent wear and tear, but they fcuk up you car overall geometry espcially the toe of the the car. sometime just having the wear is better than screwing up the car handling. |

wow - you must know a lot about cars...
![]() funny that one of the next upgrades i'm going to do in the future is adjustable camber/castor kit in my BMW... front and rear. Ever notice that all race cars have adjustable camber? guess not. sorry i dont mean to be rude, but people that dont know what they're talking about just make themselves look a bit dumb when they talk. i must be being rude since I'm up late and should be sleeping so i can be at the track nice and early tomorrow (only 7am). 'night! |
