What I've been doing lately...

down-shifting but not slowing down...

Yeah, and to gain stability in curves. Hehe, I have to enjoy these roads while I can... when I move down to LA, I won't have them anymore.

what car?

my car is slower than beans too.. and so are teh Toyota corollas, VW golfs, nissan sentras, and other family sedans that constantly place in teh top 3 - 5 around here... you'de be suprised how poorly the big vettes running hoosier slicks do...

BTW, you run in your particular class... tell me what car and i can guess what class you'de be in.

My car is a '94 Escort Wagon... with the 1.9 liter SEFI engine. It is supposed to be gutless, but I've got it up to 105 pretty easy and had plenty of pedal left. I've never had it accurately timed, but I know it can go 0-60 in around 6-7 seconds... not great, but it is a station wagon.

The only thing I can figure is that there has to be something with the tranny. I know several other people who have the same model car and complain about a lack of power, but they all have automatics. For instance, there is a hill near where I live that is fairly steep and curvey. The people with the automatic tranny can't do more than 35 up the hill. My car can accelerate up to 60 on it... any much faster than that and you would fly off the road, so I haven't tried it.

Anyway, I know the car is fast, despite its 88 HP...
