If I had the time in between shots of JD..

I'd find a pic of some Chevy owner advertising, or I could at least Photoshop something.. but I'm too enthralled with the Lakers winning at the moment.

LAKERS - Los Angeles Kept Everthing Right See? (that's really bad, I know)

FORD - First On Race Day

Chevy only wins races because NASCAR officials are wussies

It's a joke dude.. sheesh..

But I'm sure you realize that.

Jeff Gordon can't win a race because he's too busy cheating on his wife.. so Nascar has to make rules for Chevy's to run faster because he's too tired to drive fast.. oh to be him

hey,

GM - Gods Mistake

PONTIAC - Poor Old Neg** Thought Its A Cadillac

I live in detroit, and qualify for all 3 of the big 3's discounts. I only buy ford. GM in my opinion has poor styling (Aztek, Vide, Avalanche) and they all look the same, Chryslers have had too many problems in my opinion, so I refuse to buy, and every ford I have had hasnt had any major problems. My ranger had a window come loose and I think I blew a speaker (which ford replaced free of charge). My mustang didnt have any problems until somebody sliced the roof (convertible), then the AFTERMARKET roof leaked, and my Focus has yet to have a problem.

My sister has had 1 ford and 2 GM products. Her sable worked great, no problems. Her cavalier had the headliner fall on her when driving, and her Blazer leans to the right hand side since she bought it. Its very notcieable, and I have seen several others like it.

My dad has driven lincolns and now a F-150. They have had problems like a tire that liked to leak, in which Ford replaced the WHEEL & tire, and the problem stopped. The F-150 has yet to have any problems.

My one friend had a Ram. Thta thing had more problems than you would believe. Eventually he decided to sell t because of his problems.

The otehr drives a grand prix. He had a loose rear axle on the thing after having it 2 months. Hes also had a few other problems, but I dont really know what they were. I primarily harass him about the axel.

These are just the experience that my family, friends and myself have had. I am not saying Ford is perfect, because NO AUTO MANUFACTURER is, but they have shown me the best service and best product since I have been driving.

People that are fanboi's of certain car manufacturers are idiots, IMO.

I'll admit, I prefer Ford trucks, but that is more stylistic than anything else. Actually, at this point in time, I think all the truck manufacturers make F'ugly vehicles... that's why I prefer older trucks.

Anyway, if people blindly buy from a certain manufacturer without investigating reliability, specs, and features of the INDIVIDUAL models that they buy, they are morons. You can make up all the silly acronyms you want, but the fact is that each individual vehicle, regardless of the manufacturer, might fail in some unexpected way at anytime.

PONTIWAC?

Man, ribitch, I could deal with your auto company choice being ford (even though I don't prefer them), but then when you said you like MACs better then PCs. That is just terrible, man. That is also my opinion. I guess if you use photoshop and some other art programs, well that is what them Apples are for.

hey, I spent 500 bucks on a 1000 dollar system, recieved a free firewire drive, and will soon be getting a free iPod. Apple paid me to work for them for 2 years, and they converted me.

Plus, I can sell the system in a few years and more than likely get almost what I paid for it.

To top it all off, windows blows, and OS X rocks. I am not an OS 9 users. I refuse to boot it. When 10.2 is finalized, 9 will be gone for good when I reformat.

I hated macs just like 95% of the users on this board. I refused to even touch them. Then one day I got crazy and decided to give it a try. Played around with it for a week or two and was amazed on what it could actually do. I regret not trying arlier. I could have saved a ton of cash and invested in a decent apple box instead of trying to stay up to date with a pc.

Or get a descent PC box. You will always be upgrading and spending more money if you want the newest thing, wether it be an Apple or a PC. I would think even more so for Mac, because probably most of their users don't know how to "crack the case" and upgrade the stuff inside so then end up buying a whole new color..err.. system. Either that, or the fact that Apple charges so damn much for s lot of the upgrade parts.

actually, when i was buying PC upgardes, I always went top of the line. It would be minimally 600 bucks in the summer and 200 bucks around christmas time. With a mac, many users upgrade, and often. If you ever looke dinto how apple users build a system, you will notice one thing, they deck them out. max RAM, several harddrives internal and external burners, now even aftermarket DVD burners. I wont even mention the video cards that are available. These range anywhere from the GeForce seriea all the way to cards that run 5-6 grand. Most mac users are passionate about their computer and keeping it up to date. It was announced yesterday that a mac is actually cheaper than a PC in terms of support buy the Gartner group. I would give you a link to the report, but Gartner charges for their reports.

As for the price of upgrade parts, yes apple does charge more, but most of the hardware is platform independent. Some PCI cards have platform issus and require seperate firmwares, but the majority of parts are a universal interface. One thing that apple has that very very few of PC's have is a 64 bit PCI slot. Apple powermacs HAVE had them for several years now. Maybe one day intel will give users more options

Fianlly, the system are expensive because you get what you pay for. There's a reason that PC's are more expensive to maintain, thats because they user lower quality parts (not all vendors, but most), and the OS has more problems. Apple parts are some of the highest quality parts I have ever seen in a computer. Plus they have a stable OS, that crashes by far less.

When I ran win9x, I rebooted daily, 2k was once every 1-2 weeks, OS X i just rebooted after 6 weeks because I decided to run a system update as well as install Maya which recommends a reboot, then I ran a file sysetm check.

I wont look down on you for using a PC Hell, I used one most of my life and I still use them all the time for my job. I live in a family full of PC users. But for me, a computer technologies student, the best move I have made thus far is from ditching windows, getting a mac, and reading some Unix books. Theres a reason all major OS's (except M$)are now unix based. Maybe one day you willbe willing to find out why.

Ok, so I put my Win2K CD in my cd player, and booted up my Saab 95, but I have one question. Can I upgrade it just like that, or do I need to add the Swedish Language pack?

I always try to get the best rated parts. The newest best thing will only last you so long (as far as being the latest tech, not talking quality) no matter what system you have.

64 bit pci slots... They have boards with this now for PCs. There was never a need for it in mainstream PCs, so why have it. At the end of the year (or a little before) there will be 64-bit cpus, too.

Win98 rebooting daily... It is a terrible OS, but not THAT bad. There must have been other things wrong, or you installed something everyday. Win2k can last longer than that. I have been in XP for almost 24 days at the mement. I don't know about you, but it doesn't bother me to reboot if I install a system update or an occasional old driver (I never reboot for drivers, it will say you have to sometimes, but it still works fine without it). I have never had XP stall or reboot because of the OS. I had a memory problem (actually just a wrong setting in the BIOS) that was causing crashes, but not the OS. I have had 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, and XP and from my experience MS OSs are getting better. Maybe it is becuase I use popular and compatible hardware. I am not dissing the OS of Macs, BTW. I know the good things of UNIX based OSs.

Alright......

.....back on track here, now although I too think that those type window emblems are lame on ANY car, I honestly see more of them on GM products (like "CHEVY" or "PONTIAC") than I see on Fords.
I've owned many cars, some GMs, some imports, one Ford (still) and some Mopars and to be honest here, all car companies make some junk (some more than others) and occasionally a good car or two. I can't honestly say "all #%@!'s suck" when compared to another unless we're talking about a cheapo car like Yugos, it's usually a matter of preferance, whatever your friends or family drives or what you've had good "luck" with that tends to sway ones opinions on what brand is better than another.
