What a goon. What a spoiled brat. Dad buys him a $30k car and he wrecks it. I hate the IS300, but I woul take such good care of a car that expensive if I had it.

To me the IS300 is overpriced and underpowered. The 5sp is nice but it still can't compete with CL-S 6sp or G35 coupe or 330i (stock form of course). Most IS300 owners are arrogant and I don't like that either...

There are no such things as Intelligent IS-300 Owners...

And when it comes down to it, for that price range, I would rather get a A6 2.7t quattro or 540i

Where can you find a 540i or A6 2.7T for $33K??? Both cars are over $35K ($38K for 2.7T and $50K for 540i).

IMPO, that's about the same price range. I think that if you can afford a 33k car, you should be able to afford a 60-70k car. At least those are my priorities.

But, then again, I know LA is a different story. (people buy exepensive cars and living in crappy housing)

If you read to the end of the thread, looks like they checked the thread-starter's IP address and figured that a forum member created a new profile for the purpose of starting a flame thread and stirring things up.

If that's not the case, then this guy should have to ride a bus the rest of his life...

As if its any different in SD.
60-70k is twice the price of a IS300 if you can add. Seems like your priorities are warped. Then again you live in La Jolla so that's self explanatory.

Yes, we live in a world where we lease and finance our way thru life.

This is how I see it, if you can pay for at least 1/2 the car upfront, you can drive it becuase you can afford it. If you have to finance your way to "luxury" (whatever it may be), you probably should be driving something more "appropriate".

True, but sometimes there's a good reason to do so. Why would I want to pay 40k for a car so it can depreciate and lose over half its value after its paid for? Might as well just lease it and just paid a fraction of its cost.

Seems like you have the old school mentality about car ownership. So what do you think its appropriate? I don't have a nice house to go with my car. I rent. Does it mean that I have to drive a KIA? or better yet? A Geo? Gimme a break.
