We realized it, but its obviosuly not true so we didnt even bother to talk about it. Ford is not going to release a 300hp Focus in the US. Why would they make a Focus that is better than the Mustang GT which is one of their flagship cars? I dont think anyone responded to the rumor because we were all not "retarded" enough to think it was a possibility.

I still contend that Ford wont make a Focus better than a Mustang. The Mustang is their flagship.
Its just not good business to have two cars in your production compete with each other. |

I watched a Lightning race a GT and it wasnt even close. The lightning trashed it by several car lengths. I dont know what the GT owner was thinking was going to happen.

How many mustang owners would consider a Focus instead? Not too many, I'm sure. Mustang has a pretty loyal following. The Focus is aimed directly against the import market, and I see this one as competition for the higher end station wagon crowd (Audi & Volvo) rather than the muscle car crowd. If they actually manage to cram 300HP into this baby along w/AWD, a lot of 'soccer dads' will be drooling over this one - especially in the price bracket it's in. |

The lightning is good for about a quarter mile. If it was a 1/2 mile or more, the mustang would have won. The lighting unfortunately, hits an aerodynamic brick wall up in the low 100's. It's like pushing your average 2-story duplex through a hurricane.

i have a focus and i am happy with it. I bought it 6 months ago after my lease on my ranger ended. Its not exactly what i wanted, but I am more than happy with it.
I am buying it, so no more lease penalties. I have over 11,000 miles on it and have had it just shy of 6 months, and not one problem. The performance is OK, but i wasnt going for performance. The gas mileage is over 30, which is double my trucks gas mileage. The SVT focus is pretty quick. I would have preferred that car, but i couldnt get my hands on one. Instead I have the loaded version of the ZX3. as a side note, my dad manages a shop that does prototype engine machine work for the big three and a few other companies. He currently is working on a 6.8 L aluminum v-10 for ford. Its pretty much a pimped out version of the truck/van v-10. Right now its in a stang, but its goal is to have it dropped in the GT-40. My dad was lucky enough to get a ride in the stang with it.
