It's going to be an Acura TSX I think. It's going to be European and Japanese 7gen Accord I4 (K24) but smaller than the US Accord. Some rumors have that the K20 from the JDM ITR (220hp) might be offered as an optional engine.

Yup, bachviet is right it's most likely going to be the TSX here. It's going to fit in between the RSX and the TL.

I have the TL Type-S and love it.

First off id like to say, that is one Fugly Car. Second, theres no market here for a car like that. "its smaller than a accord, but costs a whole lot more!" yea im sure america will like that.

Im sure a lot of people here like small sporty cars, but thats why they pulled pruduction on cars like the Nissan 240sx, Toyota Supra (not that small), Rx7, etc..
the trend is big, the new altimas are huge, the new camry's are bigger. just as americans are becoming more and more overweight (like me) so are the cars. bigger is better. i think we need more sport car enthusiasts out there to buy sport cars. STICK SHIFT sport cars please. maybe im asking too much.

your first statement makes no sense at all and has nothing to do with the reason why they were stopped. i dont know a whole lot of japanese business but there is a lot of pride and honor in business so company heads feel the need to produce stronger and faster cars. you know, macho guy competition stuff. in the time of the supra there were cars like the rx7, 3000gt, nsx and others. business doesnt always accomodate machoness so some of these were forced out of production. with little or no competition in thier respective subclasses (sports, exotic, roadster, etc) there really isnt any need in thier eyes for all the different models. some have died, some replaced and some new models have been created: s2000, 350z/g35, is300, miata, mr2, lancer evo, wrx, rsx, nsx and other acura type s and there may be a few more. most of those qualify as small and sport. altimas, camrys, corollas, civics, accords, maximas are not sport cars, they are basic transportation (basic meaning get from point A to point B safely and be able to carry stuff with you and 3 others) and sometimes given sporty features. therefore, bigger is better in that aspect. we may not have the supra or rx7 anymore, but might get replacements. the 240z has been replaced by the se-r, rx-7 may be succeded by the rx-8, and the supra may just return in a few years.

and i havent even touched on american or european cars. bmw, porsche, audi, vw, lincoln, chevy, mercedes, ford, dodge, jaguar, caddilac and others all make thier own small sport cars. most come with an option for a manual transmission. bigger is not better in every case niether is sportier. i see just as many small people driving big cars as i do large people. bigger cars arent the answer to bigger people, healthier diets and lifestyles are. <edit> for those who choose not to live healthier or those who cant, there are bigger cars for them, and bigger does help. every try taking 4 people to an airport for a 2 month trip. you either need a bigger car or another car. a large portion of americans take family trips via the roadways and bigger cars do help.</edit>

i still havent seen how much more this rumored acura is going to cost, and just because its an acura doesnt mean its going to cost more than an accord. it might just be in the same neighborhood. look at the audi a4 and vw passat, the vw is sized near an a5 and the a4 is sportier, yet both cost the same.

It's going to cost around $25K or so. Hopefully it comes with all the bell and whistle as it should in an Acura. I know lots of pple love to own small sport Hondas; Integra TypeR, Civic TypeR, Accord TypeR, and etc... Too bad Honda doesn't import those over!

Japan always had the enthusiasts, they made Rx7's until 2001. And they have a lot of carz we dont, skylines, mark (VII somethingz),the blitz. there smaller sized sport cars, but they never came over here because they didnt feel taht there is a market for it. thank god the wrx is here as well as the Evo VII. but we still have a gap in our market for carz like that.
btw the sentra Se-r is NOT a replacement for the 240sx. it might have an Sr20de, but its not Sr20deT and isnt rear wheel drive with one of the most balanced chassis around. (sorry i watch too many drifting videos)

wow, that is a freaking sweet car.

i've always been partial to the styling of Acura line vs. hondas (which are always somewhat "vanilla" in their styling), and this one is no exception. it has great exterior lines on it and the interior looks like it's extremely well-designed (why can't american car companies figure out how to design a car interior that doesn't look like crap?)

starting at 25k, i would assume it would be pushing 30k loaded, which if my memory serves me correctly, would put it in a similar price bracket to the a4, the 325, etc.

if i had that kind of money, i'd consider it (although if i were going to spend 30 grand, i'd probably want a BMW).

Hmm...and why doesn't Honda use they styling of THAT on the larger body of our 2003 Accord because that's a hell of a lot better than what we get? Two reasons: Honda is affraid that such an aggressive design won't sell here and market studies in North America show that the majority of Accord buyers here want their Accord to look like their refrigerators as much as possible because it's just another appliance sharing space with their SUV in the garage.

if the accord looked like an acura it would deminish the value of the acura. all someone would have to do is go buy a honda and slap an acura sticker on there and the acura will no longer be as exclusive.

That wasn't what I was getting at. I mean sell the same European market Accord here as the US Accord as well. That probably didn't make any sense, but whatever.

do they even sell the acura nameplate outside north america? i know that some japanese auto makers dont sell thier luxury brands in some countries. that could be the reason they use that styling in europe and wouldnt use it on hondas here. but we will have to wait and see if it indeed will be an acura. they still might put a honda badge on it.

I think Hong Kong has Acuras. Lexuses for sure. I saw in a Hong Kong magazine do a feature on the Acura RSX, but they also had a Honda Integra Type R. I guess pretty much what I'm saying is that it's still speculation if we'll even get the European Accord as an Acura, as a Honda, or even at all. Either way, that longs A LOT better than the 2003 Accord sedan we got.

There is no Acura anywhere except in North America! Not in HK, Japan, Australia, Europe, and etc... There are Lexuses in Australia though! It's just a name but Toyota just want to charge you extra for it!

I dunt know if anyone is familiar with the video game Gran Turismo, but to access the acura cars you have to be in the North American part. (West City, or somethin). Bachviet is absolutely correct.
