2003 accord
there has been multiple threads about this car but only talking about the styling from pics. Since im sure youve seen it in person now, how do you like it?
me, i think its the ugliest car ive ever seen in my life cept the coupe which is nice, if not cougarish (eek!). The rear end is horrendous, and any attempt to make it look sporty has gone down the tubes, id take a black 2002 ex v6 over a 03 anyday cept the fact that is has better suspension, engine, brakes, wheels, navigation system. eehh looks like im buying the 03 coupe ![]()

I'll be interested to see what the redesigned Acura TL looks like. It usually takes its cues from the Accord, and I'm very so-so on its new look. I sorta like the profile, but not the front end (which looks too much like the civic) or the back end.

I like Honda a lot. Especially the accords. I know Honda will do whatever they can to make their new Accord appealing to most people some time down the road. I've never driven the V6 models but I bet they are nice.

the accord looks NASTY!!! (as I've said before).
but yeah, my buddy just bought a 2002 accord coupe...it's aiight. But when he was buying it, he was also looking at the 2003. Test drove it and all that jazz. The thing is, as he was driving it, there was rattling, and something was busted. The dealer was like, "do you hear that?" my friend's like, yeah, what's that? "yeah, I there's something wrong with this car. there's been some rattling in all the accord's i've been taking out." yeah, if for some weird reason, you like the styling of this car (do you happen to like the aztec too? ) wait a year, and let them get the bugs worked out. |

I just couldnt justify buying an accord when I could get a new Altima.

I agree about the cheapy interior of the Altima, but the leather interior makes a pretty big difference. I like the podded gauges and the European style shifter gate in the Altima. You can also get the manual with the V6 on the Altima unlike the Accord. From what I've seen in pictures of the new Accord, the interior looks top notch. I think the Camry is out of the league of both the Altima and the Accord in terms of power. The Camry also looks way too much like a Taurus. These midsizers are already considered to be automotive Tupperware and usually mean nothing more than another appliance to a large percentage of the people who buy them. To me, the Camry is the epitomy of automotive Tupperware. If I must be in the market for one of these sedans, I would chose the one that deviates most from such stigma and to me, that would be the Altima. I've always like Hondas because the EX ones come with all the goodies like sunroof and ABS standard while being options on Nissans and it's hard to find a car with leather, sunroof and ABS on a lot. Unfortunately, the hideous rear end of the new Accord would automatically turn me away and towards a new Altima and I too have seen it in person and it is as ugly as it looks in pictures. |

Oops, I meant to say you can get the manual in a sedan for the Altima unlike the Accord, but the flip side is that you can't get an Altima coupe. The manual Accord coupe will definetly be competiton for the Altima 3.5, but expect to see dealer mark-ups and although there isn't anything bad about the Accord coupe styling, I still find it very plain. I do think that one of the lowest selling points for Nissan is that they nickel and dime you for all the major features while Honda has them standard. Even if you had the money to get all the features, it's still hard to find a car with all of them.

That was a major influential factor for me when I bought the TL. There was only one option for each trim level: NAV system. Options are nice I suppose, but I tend to want a car with all of them and it sucks to see the price go up from things that should just be standard in the first place (like ABS and airbags). It's just a marketing ploy to make the price seem cheaper than it actually is. |

That's what I like about Hondas too. I think it's a total joke that Nissan makes ABS/side air bags and sunroof optional on even the 3.5 SE Altima when even the Civic EX has a standard sunroof. |
