I Saw a New Datzun 350 Z Today

It was in a mini-mall near me. What a disappointment! Maybe it was the color (Black) and the stock wheels, but I don't like it at all. The taillights don't fit into the scheme of the styling, the rear end is bulbous and the thing just looks totally awkward.
When I first saw the pictures of the new Z, I was impressed. But now I don't think it's that big of a deal.... Maybe a different color and nice wheels would change my mind?

Yeah, weird how one day they just said, well, we wanna be called Nissan now... I saw a picture of the 350z in an auto magaizine and the car they had was blue and I liked it atleast from the angle they shot the picture from.

I don't mind the 350Z, but I'd take this over it any day:

Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe

For a second, I thought that Infiniti was a Cadillac. It looks nice, though.
Sorry, I forgot that the 350 is made by Nissan.

the g35 is made by nissan too .

seqiro, with 27 more hp and and a the 2nd sweetest sounding japanese engine on these shores, id choose the Z. though i havent been able to drive the new Z yet, i can only imagine it would be better than the g35. thats just my opinion.

I rather take the G35 coupe than the new 350Z. The G35 coupe has 12hp less (275 vs. 287) not 27hp (in the case of the sedan). I am buying the services along with the car and Nissan service ranks last in the industries while Infinity is one of the best!

Ill take the g35 too. I'll give up a bit of speed in exchange for a lot of luxury. But I still like the 350z. It looks big and fast, which it is.

Oh I like 350Z plenty, don't get me wrong.

I just think G35 offers more for your money and probably won't have the insane markups that the Z has had. You've also got a back seat in G35.

Like bachviet said, it's only a 12HP difference in the G35 coupe and while yeah the 350Z is probably a little more fun, until I can afford a second car I don't think I want to be going out for groceries in it. With the G35 you can have the fun of Z with the utilitarian aspects of larger car.

hehe, yeah, you wont be getting a whole lot of groceries in that trunk, if yo can call it a trunk. as for the markups, my dealings with nissan have shown that, for the time being, you can order one at msrp to your specs. but yea, the z is definately a second car

The company was always Nissan. Datsun was made up for the American market when they first hit the shores here. In a similar effort to cater to the American consumer, the first 240Zs arrived on US shores as the Fairlady 240Z, but the Fairlady name plates were pulled off at the port before they arrived at the dealerships for fear that the name would not go over well with the American consumer. To this day, the Z cars in Japan are still called Fairladies.

I just saw a 350z and a G35 coupe on the same day. Man, that G35 coupe is looking better and better.

I went out to eat for lunch today at a local restaurant. As I was walking to my car, I looked over and I saw a car and commented to my friend, "Oh, that's one of those new dumb looking Cadillacs". I looked at the emblem at the rear of the car and it said Infinity G35.
Sorry, this is another disappointment. The pictures look better than the actual car.

You know, the more people not liking the Z and the G35 Coupe the better. Hopefully, this way Nissan will bring down the price and make it more easily attainable for me.

The downside, however is that even though Nissan finally grew a pair and is re-offering a true sports car with some edgy styling to set it apart from the rest of the crowd and it's being received with comments on how ugly it looks, which may possibly lead to the early demise in the long awaited return by some for real sport compact cars. At least give Nissan some credit for it's engineering. Don't know about the rest of you, but despite the questionable stylings of the Subaru WRX, RX-8, and EVO VIII, they are still a hell of a lot better than the monster SUVs blocking my line of sight day in and day out.

The '04 WRX will have different headlights (no more buggy eyes) and I like it a lot better than the current ones. Then I might consider getting one (WRX STi that's)!
