Transmission problem in 2002 accord vp

AHHH my tranny is going

check engine light comes on
the drive light thing blinks when its in gear
when i go, it starts going, they like comes outta gear, and catches again when it starts revving for a little while, and spins the tires when it catches 2nd, it does all this really roughly. same with 3rd and 4th. when it down shift the whole car jumps and it crunches really badly, reverse hardly works, but the car runs fine when i keep it in 2nd gear, cept it just stays in 2nd!

whats wrong!!!! my dads bringing it into honda tommorow, tranny is covered on the warranty

hmm...weird. is your accord a v6? i've heard of a honda recall on the transmission on some of honda's 3.5L v6's but not in the accord v6.

hope you get the problem fixed...

Honda is extending the warranty on certain transmissions built between 2000 and 2003, but it doesn't seem to include the 2002 Accord.

It's not a recall but an extended warranty from 3/36K to 7/100K on some V6 and Prelude auto. Anyway your car is still under warranty so get it fix.

*sigh*

poor baby accord had to get a WHOLE new tranny. The honda technician said that the gear ratios were off, what could cause that? thing shifts like a pro now, no lag, and you cant even tell if you put it into geat anymore!

Those v6 hondas are literally tearing up tons of honda trannies.
There was a big story in the times of a guy cruising along at 70 and than just slowing rapidly to 20 mph.
Honda has never had a problem like this and they dont stock a lot of transmissions, some guys were backlogged for like 2+ weeks.
Get it replaced ASAP. If there are any problems report to the BBB. They know there is a problem but havent done a total recall yet.

Good luck
-jel
