F'd up people

It was my dads birthday today. My family went out to dinner to celebrate. After we departed in 4 different cars, my sister called in within 10 minutes. Apparently, some a'hole decided it would be a good idea to throw a big rock at her windshield while they were getting on the greeway on ramp. Fortunately, the windshield just spiderwebbed and didn't break into pieces. But still... Freaking people.

Damn, that's seemingly pointless. Was the car parked or was your sis driving it at the time? There was an incident a few years ago in Hastings, NY (near where I grew up) in which somebody intentionally dropped a cement block off of a highway overpass. The block hit a car, smashed through the windshield, and killed the driver.

UPDATE: I found out that it didn't just shatter the windshield but messed up the hood and bumper as well. AND... My other sister was 2 cars behind her and she got hit with a rock too that messed up her windshield as well.

filed report with police? here in da bay area, some dudes kept using air-soft rifles, or whatever you call 'em, and kept shooting at cars on the freeway.. they eventually got caught, and got a nice fine and a sentence too i think..

It happened a lot lately in SoCal. Pple just threw rock from the brigdes onto cars driving fast on the freeways. One time, a brick went through the windshield and embedded into a 5-yr old kid's head. Luckily the kid didn't die though.

Cool legal thing involving this...

Here in Florida anyway, that is considered assault with a deadly weapon. In fact, they specifically state in the consealed weapons rule book that exact situation. You are allowed to stop your car, pull over, get out and shoot the person if they are still standing there. If they run away you cant shoot them, but if they stick around to point and laugh, the joke will be on them.

Its the law but it seems risky. You may not get jail time for shooting them, but I imagine you'd lose a civil law suit over wrongful death, so I'd shy away from actually popping them.
