if i get this accord....

2003 accord v6 w/leather
Performance
Base Number of Cylinders: 6 Base Engine Size: 3 liters
Base Engine Type: V6 -1 Horsepower: 240 hp
Max Horsepower: 6250 rpm Torque: 212 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 5000 rpm Drive Type: FWD
Turning Circle: 36.9 ft.
Fuel economy : city - 21-22 mpg highway - 30-31 mpg
Top speed : 140 mph(estimated)
0-60 mph : 7.3 sec.(auto)
60-0 braking distance : 130 ft(estimated)

what's a good deal on it? my dealer is going to give me a few hundred below the TMV listed at edmunds.com. 24something. i won't buy it unless i'm getting a good/great deal!

what's the best financing rate you have seen? my credit union will do 4.99.

what's the first thing i should do to the engine/body? i don't want to rice it up too much but wouldn't mind dropping it a little because the back end sticks up a bit in the air, putting mods on the engine, performance exhaust maybe. NO STICKERS OR BIG WINGS though. this accord will have a babyseat so it can't look too riced. lol. i wish it was legal in michigan to tint the front windows. you can tint the top but that looks kind of gay. should i spring for a rear decklid spoiler or a rear wing spoiler? i'm pretty sure i'll get fog lights.
the only thing i don't like about it is that i can only get it with an automatic in the v6. i'll get the graphite color. the picture looks pretty green but it's more of a dark gray in real life

Why don't you check out this http://www.v6accord.com/forumssite for more ideas and info on the Accord V6? I'm a member of that board and use the same name.

I was looking at the same car a little while ago but ended up buying a truck. Honda makes good stuff.

You'll be just like everyone else on the road with their Accords or Camrys. Be daring and get something different.

I always say that too..
but the more I think about it...you pay for it when you try to sell or trade in your car.

Honda's have a sick resale value....

financially, it makes sense to be 'average'

Wait till 2004

I think the 2003 are pretty ugly and others have agreed. I think Accords look good in EVEN numbered model years and ugly in odd numbered years (see 01)

Re: Wait till 2004

The '04 Accord will just look like the '03 Accord. Too bad Honda doesn't put the new V6 engine (J30A4) into the '04 Acura TSX (Euro Accord). If Honda ever puts that engine into the TSX, I would get one instead of the USDM Accord.

That accord will be close to 30k. Have you considered a Maxima? It's much faster

Where do you get your price from? The brand new Accord V6 EX coupe is only around $24K before tax and license. The only one that sells @ MSRP price is the Accord V6 EX coupe 6sp ($26K or so).

Thumbs up

If you want speed, looks, and exceptional performance, get the new Mazda 6. Its inexpensive, and satisfies your requirements for a good fast and reliable car. Much better then the Accord. but if you are getting an accord no matter what people say, get the COUPE! The sedan looks like an old mans left hairy ass cheek. PLAIN disgusting. Looking at it just makes you wanna cry

With the Mazda 6s (V6), the base price is $23,411, which is $600 less than the Accord V6 EX. It doesn't even come with all the standard features in the Accord V6 EX such as Homelink system, 6-disc changer, leather interior, power moonroof, side airbags, and side air curtains. It's not such a good deal after all these add-ons ($25xxx before TTL).

Getting back to the subject, I think the new accord is the ugliest one yet. Buick back lights and Ford Focus fronts... Ugh!? But I think it will sell well just because it's a Honda Accord.

I would just wait for the Acura TSX (Japanese/European Accord).

The TSX should be coming out sometime next month in April. That car would really rock with a V6, but right now the only engine that will be available will be the 2.4L, 4 cylinder producing 200hp & 166lbs-ft of torque. Maybe they will have a V6 if they decide to produce a Type-S version. Anyone know when they plan on redesigning the TL? I'm looking @ getting either the Accord V6, TL, or TSX.

Rumors have that the TL, which has model change next year as MY05, will have 260hp for the base and 280-300 hp for the TypeS. The CL supposes to be discontinued. If Honda decides to install the current Accord V6 engine (J30A4) into the TSX, I would get the TSX!

The new Accord V6 is a really good car...front looks nice, but the back is kind of terrible looking. Econimically great vehicle, pretty good gas mileage for a V6, very reliable (it is a honda), good power numbers, etc. I say go for it with the accord, spring for the fog lights and the wing spoiler, makes the back end look a little less "ugly" (cant think of a less harsh word).

As for aftermarket, yea you can drop it and throw some rims on it. For engine, first thing is go for an AEM cold air intake (inexpensive, sounds nice, adds good power for the money), if you want an exhaust, make sure you get something good and with a silencer (i have an exhaust on my V6 eclipse, no silencer can get annoying sometimes, sounds good usually though). A real nice thing to do is to go for a nice sound/video system. you know in dash tv, headrest tv's, dvd, navigation, and new speakers. even if honda's factory speakers are nice, remember, theyre factory and wont last extremely long. Get some nice aftermarket speakers, maybe a small subwoofer, like an infitiny basslink or something, and your ready to go! sorry for the long post, but i had a lot of input, im actually looking for another car myself and thinking of things to do...hehehe.

we bought the 03 V6 accord sedan w/leather back in December and love it. We have nearly 15K miles on it and not a single problem. It has plenty of power for quick starts and passing slow people on the interstate. We paid $24,800 (including the Honda extended warranty 7yr, 100K miles) and got 3% financing for 60 months through Honda. We did the Honda extended warranty because it is transferable if we decide to sell, all Honda dealers have to honor it, and because we put so many miles on our cars. If we didn't get the warranty we will probably be over the mileage in a year.

The only things we have been considering is to replace the 16" wheels with 17" and possible the spoiler. I'd like to see one in person with the spoiler before I decide. I've seen pics on the net, but usually the car has ugly wheels and other crap installed that makes the whole car look ugly.

Oh, and I don't like the headlights either. Still can't figure out what they were thinking.
