most of the time, it seems like i've been paying $1.77-1.79 for gas.

however, i've also gotten it in the $1.62-1.67 range a few times.

i don't really pay attention to the price any more. i drive a lot commuting to and from work and i dont' really have a choice......so i just keep filling up

Thats about the way I look at it..gotta have it, so it doesn't really matter how much it is per gallon. Just whether or not I can fill up now or do I have to wait til I get paid.

I've been paying about 1.60 something for midgrade.

I saw a Chevron about 2 miles from me that had Regular 87 octane for $2.15/ga. That is insane. Doesn't even come with a free car wash. The no-name station a few blocks from my house just raised their 87 octane to $1.99/ga today from $1.93. Bleh.

It's all about Costco gasoline.

Everywhere I looked it was around $1.90+/GAL for Regular Unleaded and wonderful Costco has it for $1.86/GAL. Woohoo!! I love Costco!

Too damn expensive in SoCal... I'm in Michigan right now (for business) and the regular gas is only $1.55/gallon.

I haven't had to fuel up in 2 weeks. My work is only 4-5 miles away so I try to bike to work 3 days a week. Just by biking I get $2/day from Rideshare (CA state program). My tank is almost to the 1/2 mark, so I guess I'll have to get gas at Costco sometime next week.

I posted this in the suckage forum, but I thought I would post it here too. By the way we are at about 1.55-1.60 for 87 octane.

Bah! You guys don't know what expensive gas means until you come visit us in Canada.

(Yes, we're currently at 78.9 (Canadian) cents per litre for 87 octane). I don't think I even need to do a currency conversion here.

You're lucky enough to live in gas-rich Alberta. In Vancouver I've seen 83.9/L, which works out to $2.11US/Gallon.

Divide Canadian by 1.5 to get US, then multiply by 3.78 to go from litres to gallons.

BTW, did anyone know that the US's biggest supplier of Oil&Gas is Canada? I saw a poll that said only 1% of Americans know that.

according to data i just saw on snopes, the u.s. buys slightly less oil from canada than they do from saudi arabia and mexico.

linky
(btw, the stats are from the dept. of energy for dec 02).

but when i saw that we get 15% of our oil from canada, i was absolutely shocked. i had no idea our neighbors to the north produced so much.

Prices just dropped here in Kamloops (from as high as 80.4/l) down to 62.8 (that's the lowest I saw anyway). Roughly US$1.58 per gallon. That's pretty cheap even by US standards. Not sure how long it will last though (until a few days ago we were at 69.9 for quite a while).

I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t drive very much (50 miles week). So as of right now I am keeping my tank full. Because if we go to war, everyone is going to fill up his or her gas tank after we have started going to war. This means everyone is going to get gas thinking it will be their last fill up at "descent prices" although the gas stations will have already jacked up prices $.50-1.00 already. Not only having a full tank before we go to war will save you money, it will save you the bigger picture of not hassling with those big lines at gas stations from the dumb folks and certain station will probably run a little short here and there of gas (btw please take pictures of the long gas lines when this happens, we will have a contest who got the biggest load of people waiting for gas). Some reject this idea because gas prices are high right now, but do you honestly believe that gas will drop in price between your current tank and the next time you fill up? I understand some of you cannot reasonably do this. Such as those of you poor souls who use a tank a week, you’re just screwed.

About $2.00/gallon for 87 now in SoCal. The good thing is that my car only needs 87 to run not 91! I'll be taking the bus soon if gas won't drop!
