Ok what would you boys get with 10-15 grand
Sorry Burz...
But I had to ask this.MISSION: What would you boys get with 10-15 grand? Anything after 1992 or 1993. You could use the money any way you wanted. Just the car, or even mods if you've any money leftover. I want something fun, powerful and decently reliable. Could be Japanese, European or American. |

I was thinking passenger cars. Rather than luxury, I prefer something sporty. Something with good power and fun to drive. If it WERE possible(though I doubt it), that '98 3 series would be a good choice. I'm not a big fan of the 300GT. How about something European? Audis? Saabs? VWs? Or other types of sporty Japanese cars?

but if u change ur mind a 96-98 Integra GSR, 180 hp, 8K redline, pure jap vtec sexuality. ANd it comes in Both 2 and 4 doorS. WaIt theres more. Comes with power everything, cruise, AND A theft rate 2 1/2 times higher than any car on the market. Happy shopping! |

for 15, you can easily find a well taken care of mr2 turbo =).
but i'm happy with my 96 GSR i found with 35k miles for $10k a year ago. if i could do it all over again would i still get the gsr over the mr2? yes...i need my cargo space!

Speaking of Japanese "sporty" cars, the Integra really seems to be a popular choice wherever I go. How would people compare it to the Prelude? Let's say I could choose between a '96 Integra GSR and a '96 Prelude VTEC. What would you recommend and why? I prefer the looks of the Prelude, and the fact that it's more rare (at least in Cali), but how about performance and price?

Some dont like how big n heavy the prelude is. I personally like the style better. But if u dont get a type SH, the GSR out performes it. PLus tegraz are a lot cheaper. But i guess if u had deep pockets, get a prelude, and Hop that **** up. im thinking supercharger, rimz and a nice system.

the prelude is i guess more "rare" but it is not as RAW as the gsr...point in case, the integra type r. The prelude is a nice semi luxrious ride. if both were to race in a straight line, it would depend on the driver...power to weight ratio for the lude isnt as good as the integra. on a track however, i'd put my money on an integra. best way to decide is to go out and drive them! =) some nice wallpaper for ya: ![]() ![]() Last edited by epoxi : 03-16-2003 at 02:11 AM. |

How about a 1995/1996/1997 Lexus SC400? Coupe, power, style, babe-appeal, it's a Toyota... so reliability should be better than average.

Camaro
Get a camaro, the 1998+ Z28s have over 320 horsepower. These cars are fun to drive and faster than a mustang. The maintenance on mine is pricey (eg 8 sparks instead of 4 and if you want headers, you need 2). These are so frickin fast though, and minor upgrades net more horsepower than the same upgrades to a 4 banger. People say it's a heavy car but it's completely comparative. It's heavier compare to a civic but to say a supra TT or a 3000gt ,it's in the same weight class. I get 20/26 mpg on mine.

More suggestions
Here are some suggestions:
1999 Acura CL-Series Midsize Coupe/Hatchback***** 1999-2001 Acura Integra Compact Coupe/Hatchback**** 1999-2001 Chevrolet Camaro Midsize Coupe/Hatchback 1999-2001 Ford Mustang Compact Coupe/Hatchback 1999-2000 Honda Prelude Compact Coupe/Hatchback 1999-2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Compact Coupe/Hatchback 1999-2000 (maybe even 2001) Pontiac Firebird Midsize Coupe/Hatchback 2001 Chrysler Sebring Midsize Coupe/Hatchback 2000-2001 Volkswagen GTI Compact Coupe/Hatchback 1999-2000 Saab 9-3 Compact Coupe/Hatchback 1999-2001 Honda Accord Coupe**** Hope these help. I put a star next to some of the ones I think are good cars. I really think the Acura CL would be a good fit especially if you were looking at the older Lexus vehicles. g ![]() |

Get a bimmer, you know you want to... :-)
You can easily get a 97-98 3 series with decent miles for under 15K if you haggle them right, hell you can get a high-mileage (~90K) '97 7 series for 15k. |
