I think you're fine. You have plenty of tread and as for the cracking, well...it's fine. hehe.

When you start getting cracking on the side walls then thats another story. I dont know how much you drive but I think youll make it until next winter at least.

If you see steel, then it's most definitely time for new tires.

Companies usually recommend that you take a penny and put it in one of the grooves. If you see the top of Lincoln's head, that's about time for new tires.

I'm no where near a car expert.. but my car is a 2000 Maxima.. the original tires were Toyos.. the size is like a 16 inch.. 215/55R16 I think was the size. I've already had 2 Toyos replaced with Michelin Energy I forgot which exact model.. but its a Plus model..

Tirerack sells 'em for around $140-145 each.. owwie..

When the wear-bands are at equal height to the treadline, your tires are "legally bald" (I think that is at 1/32 of an inch of tread left... but don't quote me on that.)
Your on the money with that statement

Tires usually don't crack like that unless your car sits still a lot. How long and how often do you drive your car? Your tires might also be under inflated, but I don't see an uneven tread wear on the one you took a picture of. Other than that, you have plenty of tread left and don't need new tires yet.
