Woohoo! Got to ride in my friend's Audi
I got to ride in my friend's (and classmate) Audi TT Convertible(with 6 speed manual). She is an unbelievably good driver. Man was it fun.
Her dad just got a new Benz S600 w/ the twin turbo engine. Dang....

S600 with twin-turbos? Enlighten me, please. I've never heard of that one. Sounds interesting.
Dave. |

The 2003 S600 comes stock with a v12 twin turbo engine which cranks out nearly 500hp. It does produce a bit more torque than the 55 motor which is a v8 w/ a supercharger (Kompressor) on it. Just wait until the CL65 AMG comes out. It'll have over 600hp with its v12. |

To be more specific on the 600 specs, it has 493hp with a paltry 590lb of torque.

I'm sure the Mercedes tuners (brabus, Kleeman, and RennTECH) already have an idea of what they will do to make these cars even faster. Supposedly, Kleeman will be getting the CL65 over 800hp. It seems pretty silly that these motors just keep getting bigger and putting out more horsepower. People don't even utilize it. My service adviser was talking to one of his clients that had just purchased a 2003 CL55 AMG (493hp as well) and he said he just took the car to Vegas and averaged 75mph with 22mpg. My advisor was shocked... He was like, "Do you KNOW what you're even driving?!!!!" I guess it's just for the status. |

did you hear about the new bugatti? i read it in my automobile magazine. it's the bugatti veyron. it's a 987 hp, AWD, mid-mounted, 8.0-liter quad-turbo W-16 delivering 922 lb/feet of torque via a seven-speed, double-clutch, paddle-shift transmission.
it looks really ugly. i can't wait to see some mercedez SLRs on the road starting next year. d'oh, i'll be in korea. |
