Driving down Pico in West LA this morning, I spotted a new Rolls Royce Phantom and then a new RX-8 a few blocks later. The Rolls was not ugly, but it wasn't what one would expect a Rolls to look like. It's almost as if the front and the rear are in a design conflict with each other. The rear is a very elegant retro look, but the front seems like a bad 80's interpretation of a future car with the small rectangular head lights and large round driving lights below.

The RX-8 didn't look as nice in traffic as it does in the ads. It doesn't even come close to standing out like the last RX-7. It's not bad, but not exceptional either.

I also saw a some test mule on the 10 freeway covered in the black plastic you see in car mags when they print spy shots. I couldn't tell what it was other than it was a coupe with round tail lights. I thought a Corvette at first, but it was a little too short. Oh, it had broken down and was to the side of the road with its hood up.
