700R-4 auto tranny
I am looking into buying a car with the 700r tranny, the only thing is that they said that they drove it w/o the TV cable in for only a couple miles. Would this have ruined the trany in the long run? I heard that a improperly adjusted TV cable will kill the tranny in as little as 5 miles.

I believe that the TV cable allows you to utilize passing gear, which is just going into a lower gear without manually selecting it. I doubt that it would damage anything.
