Uh-oh I sprayed my shorts (figuratively of course)
Background:
So tonight I went to my local car get together that we call car club (I do not know what ya'll call it, it isn't import night because all sorts of cars show up (twenty cars total, everyone knows everyone and we like it like that, we meet at O'riellys (you should come Aggieslaughter))). Anyways the night is winding down and people are leaving but I get talking to this guy I sort of know (seen and talked to like 3 time different times before), but keep forgetting his name. Anyway he owns a 1993 RX-7 twin turbo that is black and it is clean as can be. So as we are talking he asks me if I want to go for a spin and of course I was like "Hell yes, I will even pay for gas". So we get on the highway (it is like 1:00 AM) and we are cruising about 80 MPH headed toward out of town, after a couple miles we head take an off ramp and do a U-turn and we starting getting back on the highway and he just starts going through the gears. He was in fourth gear when I finally looked over; we were doing about 130 MPH. Then he shifts it into 5th gear and we scream all the way up to 150 MPH before he slows it down because a slow curve was coming up. To say the least my breath was taken away because I had really never done too much over 100 MPH before. The Cool Part: Anyway we stopped at a gas station to get gas (like I promised him earlier I would pay for gas). Anyway I go in to give the clerk $5 cash for gas and when I come back to the car they guy is in sitting in the passenger seat. I looked into the driver side window and he was like "your turn". So I hopped in, asked what the gear pattern was and we were off. I only got her up too 100 MPH, but I did get to do some dead stop launches. They were not dump clutch launches but more of feather clutch until 3,000 and the release clutch fully. The third time I did it I spun all the way through second gear and dint even realize it until I got into 3rd. Anyway to say the least cool people are cool. I find it very funny that we both didn't know each other’s name until we departed for the night. Lesson: Cool people are cool.

Pretty sweet of him to let you drive his car. FD's can be very wallet unfriendly to mistakes.

FD3S is the designation for the last RX7 twin turbo (93 to 95 or so in the US).

fd3s is acutally a model code. like rps13 for my 240 eheh. ima cool dood too. i let a few of my friends drive some of the cars i get my hands on, but i never let the do 100 on the freeway. hell i dont even let them drive on the freeway. what i really think is he was trying to impress you. next time you see him dont be suprised if he asks you out for some coffee and "takes you for a ride" again...jk

Actually he sold the car. He has four 3yr old kids (quads) and they are costing him a pretty penny and he cannot have his sports car anymore. I consider it basically being a 4 wheel motor cycle.
