so my parents are planning on a new car..

I think they are gonna be looking at SUV's and mini vans...

so far they tried the the Nissan Quest and xterra.. and the Toyota sienna. out of those 3 so far... we like the Xterra.

We may go and try the Honda Odyssey and the toyota highlander..

any suggestions of comments on these cars?

..yes i know.. check out edmunds.com

TIA

I've heard good things about the XTerra. Those I have spoken to that have it really like it, but they are very much assfault(sp)-4x4ers, doubt their SUVs have ever seen mud. (Yuppies...)

Wait for the Hybrid version of the Toyota Highlander. I think that's one of Toyota's new hybrids this year...

xterra seems like an anomaly from the list... more of a 'young' suv....probably in the 'cute-ute' class.
if you want something in that range... might wanna check out the ford escape - that supposedly did pretty well in most of the comparison tests. also, escape is supposed to have a hybrid version sometime this summer, if you're into that thing.

I would get the Highlander even though I don't like Toyota much.

2 out of the 4 people I've known who had owned XTerras have flipped them. Both incidents occured by the car rounding a corner on ice. It may just be me, but the XTerra looks like it's pretty tall for its width.
