The three main rules of driving...

When you break these rules:

1) Stay awake and alert!
2) Wear your seatbelt!
3) Both hands on the wheel!

This is what happens...

edit: Didn't mean to sound like your driver's ed teacher, but he/she was right...

I love how he's squished in the back...I wonder if the firefighters just left him there for a while...

OMFG.

Where the hell is that footage from. Freaking hilarious.

How did they get the telemetry, i.e. g force factors?

and why the hell did he not use his right hand the entire time? he hits the first time, then tries keeping control of the car with just his left hand... ok...

and yeah , why was it being filmed? because it even counts down to when he first hits

A friend of mine sent that to me. He provided little information other than that the vehicle belonged to a commercial fleet (a courier service, maybe...) of some sort and that the vid and info came from an onboard monitoring system installed for just such an occasion.

Here's a link to the company... There are downloadable sample videos, but they try to install some kind of special player so I did not view them...

I think the monitoring system videos continuously, (it looks like four frames per second) but only saves the last few seconds of data prior to a triggering event such as a crash.

Why only one hand on the wheel? Remember, he had just awakened... He probably was not "firing on all cylinders"... He didn't look (in general) like the sharpest knife in the drawer to start with...

I tell people that ride with me that don't usually wear seatbelts: "i'm not so much concerned about you, I just don't want you slamming into me if something happens."

Its usually good for a laugh and then they buckle up.

Unhappy Macs don't do it

I am with OC on this one. I can hear it but i can't see it... Sounds pretty nasty though. Hmm hopefully when I get home to pc Land, it can make for a nice popcorn experience.

I guess i can't personally see why someone would want to go without a seat belt. I mean it can be a slight discomfort, but to save your life? Probably a fair investment.

Just a thought..

Mark

Ah that aint nothin.

A car flew off the overpass and landed on my roof. Collapsed the roof and squished me and my friend to the seats collapsing the seats. Good thing my seats were back and not upright or I'd of been dead. That my friend is pain. Though that guy looked like he was in pain too.
All the recklas speeding I've done and I almost get done in by a flying car. You never know, you never know.
