i dunno how messy the police dept is in LA County, but for Baltimore City, if you delay your court date once (maybe twice), the cop will have transferred to a different dept, and they won't show. they don't show, you're innocent.

I wish I was unable to do online traffic school. In Illinois, or at least in Cook County, you can't take it online unless you're 21 years of age. Real life traffic school was actually really fun, we had some crazy old guy who sort of reminded me of Bill Cosby.

If you get tickets in Orange County, you can't take traffic school online. YOu have to go to court for the class either on Wednesday nights (two 4 hours sessions) or Saturday (one 8 hour session).

i seriously doubt it will be 150. i've gotten 3 speeding tickets in LA county. 2 in malibu and 1 in santa monica. they've all been around the $115-$120 range.

1st: doing 78 in a 55, but since it was my first, cop put 70.
2nd: 63 in a 45 zone
3rd: 64 in a 50 zone

and they've all come out to around 110. yours was only 13mph over the limit, so i doubt it will go up to 150. i've done all my traffic schools online, www.hometrafficschool.com , about 30 minutes if you know what to do

I got a 50 in a 35 in Cerritos a few months back. (Had to go potty real bad) Anyways, it cost me a bit under $200 and the online traffic school was about $30 and was finished in less than 20 minutes. The best $30 ever spent on traffic school.

A note on the online traffic school thing... some counties require you to go somewhere, like Mailboxes Etc. or whatever they are now to go take your "final exam". The final exam is just to prove that you actually did the online thing. You take a printout (which is basically the answer key to the test) from the online school so you get all the ?'s right.

We really should evaluate our speed limit system. I mean schools and stuff.... that makes sense, go slow but open roads with 1/2 miles between stoplights that are almost always green....please, make it 80 or something

Never ever say sorry. They quote you on the ticket and if you plan on fighting it, no dice, because an apology is considered an admission of guilt.

Anyways, trying to get out of ticket is a freaking ordeal for me. It never works. Whether I'm in business attire or in jeans and t-shirt. My pops says its because I exude and attitude that is snide. Maybe, but I have a friend that is the most arrogant of them all and he always smooth talks his way out of tickets. And my brother? He's always flashing his military ID, valid back then and invalid now. It's always good for a verbal warning, even for going 90, but me? Always the damn stiff. Maybe cops just hate me.

Do they sell them on Ebay?

And I don't think saying sorry is an admission of guilt. You could be saying, sorry, I believe you are wrong. I think it's much more likely to get you out of a ticket than to lock you into one.

No they don't sell them on eBay. They get stupid telemarketers to scam you out of "charitable" donations, telling you to "do it for the kids". I often wonder how much of my donations make it a better day for an underpriveledged child as they claim.

I've know a few officers to write with big quoatation marks SORRY, on the ticket of a person who showed me his citation.
