Screw you Mercedes! Chalk one up for the consumer!

Some of you know that I have been battling Mercedes on a lemon law case for about 4 months now. Today, I received the good news from my lawyer that they are now willing to settle. I just need to cross the T's and dot the lower case J's (guess what movie that is from) and I'll be rid of my piece of crap. Now the fun part begins... What do I get?

What kind of car are you looking for? For a sport sedan or coupe, get the G35.

Kudos to you. hehe...

I don't need a fast car so I'm looking at the BMW 530i and the CLK320 cabriolet. And before you call me stupid for getting another Mercedes, if it breaks, I'll just lemon law it again.

check the new acura TL, with the extra money you can buy the a-spec kit/ upgrade for it. bump it to over 300 horses, 20" rims....not bad for a sedan. Plus you'll get built in bluetooth capability for your new bluetooth enabled phone ;-)

The 530i is underpower but the handling is good. The 540 is too expensive (over $50K).

You mean... the 545? That is way more than I want to spend right now. I don't need a car that goes super fast anyways.

I'm not in to modding cars anymore. I actually never was. The only upgrades I put on my last car were 18" wheels and tires, navigation system, CD changer (MB doesn't make CD players standard), and tint. As for Bluetooth, BMW has a BT module for the 5 series and MB should have their BT module very soon which they are calling UHI.

The 530i is over $50k... The 545 is about $63k with SMG, sport, and premium.

Why not just get a chill car, like a honda civic, then pocket the rest of the money and do better things with it. OR go buy a 69' Camaro SS

I need a decent sized lease payment since I write it off through my company. I'd rather benefit rather than give it to the government. And... kimchi is right... You would not see me in an American muscle car. It's just not me.

I'm still not big on the way the E60 looks, but it does drive really well.

Uh... No thanks. I don't really need the versatility... which is why I'm considering the CLK320 cab. It's just a fun car.

I thought about the Boxster for a little while, but I've talked to my friends that own one and they're all not happy with it. Maintenence costs are really high, plus insurance would be SKY HIGH ($7000/yr).

(not that you would buy a big ol' truck... since you are considering cars that cost twice as much. )

Don't get me wrong... I totally dig the new Dodge Ram. If I were going to buy a truck, that would be it. However, that's not what I'm looking for right now. Gas consumption would also eat me alive in Cali where 87 octane is going for over $2/gal. BTW, what kind of real life fuel economy are you getting on that bad boy anyway?

I'm pretty sure I won't be going with the BMW. The lease package is a lot more attractive with Mercedes at 1.9%... Plus, I can just lemon law the car again in a few years!

ONE MEELYON DOLLARS. /pinky in mouth

It's a reasonable sum. If I build the settlement back in to my payments, I drove a Mercedes on a Civic DX lease payment.

Why would you want to risk going through this lemon law thing again with another MB? Is your lawyer working for free? I would never consider a MB unless it had the letters AMG on the back.

My vote is for the G35 coupe. CLK 320 is not a chick magnet. Neither are 5 series BMWs. If you want a car to score chicks at clubs in LA with, then you need a Ferrari or a Porsche. I think some of the wiser girls are aware that a Boxster is a girlie car too so nothing less than a Carrera will do.
