Question Got | Colored Tires?

Has anyone seen or has anyone bought tires with colored stripes in them? I was driving home from work and pulled up behind this integra. I thought it was modded pretty decently and then as it pulls away, i blink a couple times and am like "did he spill paint on his tires?"
But sure enough he has to stripes. A 3 inch and 2 inch of red within the treat of the tires on all four. I had never seen something like that before. I thought, thats pretty cool, but i wonder if popular brands of tires made them.
Have you guys ever seen or used tires like that? Any thoughts?

colored tires still leave black burnouts and even make the tire black for a bit till you wear then back down to more color.

They have colored tires for sportbikes now (red, blue, yellow, green etc) - they're re-treads and look nasty, but they still supposedly grip good. Burnouts are the same - you'll get a black line on the center untill you ride for a bit an wear it off.

Only a matter of time until they show up on CSI as crime scene evidence. They are kinda neat, but does the stripe tract as well as the rest of the tire, or is the color in the groove?

from the picture it actually looks like different rubbers that were fused together.

but yeah, the way DF said it would make more sense.

They are made by BFGoodrich and are sold under the Scorcher T/A line. There are various colors. I think you can even custom order a specific color selection. The color is actually in the compound so the rubber is the same as the rest of the tire. Only thing that may be questionable is the tread design in order to accomadate for the color stripe. They have been around for at least 5 years and are not illegal in CA. These tires are DOT approved. It's rice, IMO.

Those tires are rice gear, but in some cases, like where it matched the color of the car perfectly, it might actually look good.

i think the color tires are the company's attempt to market the rice crowd with something that has completely no effect on performance what so ever. thats just my opinion

After seeing how neon lights, HP boosting stickers, Type-R emblems, and loud exhaust cans have proven to be so popular, I really don't blaim them.
