Tire problems...

So, I ran into a curb avoiding a biker, and my front right tire got a flat...

are wholes on the side of a tire repairable? i've only seen punctures being repairable....

I don't think they are... if you bought it at Costco, you could get $$$ back w/ their road hazard guarantee.

I have never seen a hole in the side of a tire be fixed. I don't think you would want to drive on it even if you find someone who claims they can fix it.

Plug patched can only be done on the tread. If your sidewall is damaged, then your only choice is a new tire.

At least two tires if the other tire is worn.

I wore the tire on my old Eclipse GSX down to the belts in 6500 miles (actually, 7000 miles on the Goodyear Eagles, 5500 miles on the Pirelli P-700Z's, and 8000 miles on the Dunlop SP8000's), so you can consider them nearly dead.

When you buy tires from them with road hazard... any damage to the tire and they will give you a brand new one as long as the tires are not "legally bald". (I think that's 1/32 of tread left...)

Pretty much, they have the best prices and the best warranty hands down around here.

Is their road hazzard warranty like most places where they prorate the cost of the new tire based on the amount of tread left on the old tire?

I think so.

I just bought 8 tires from Tire Rack without any complaint.

i used to drft (if you can call it that on open diff) on a regular basis. my tires are totally bald on the passenger side. its bald by the edge new the sidewall. i need some camber . anyways junk yards are you friends. i go by the junk yard to get used tires all the time. although i do save up and try to get new ones for the front.

btw their about 20 for the tire and mount. balancing is also a good idea.

I like Discount tire as well. I can shop their selection online and get a quote before even going so I don't feel taken. Then when you get there you can negotiate and always know what worse case scenario is. The least pressure I've ever felt when going to a "tire place".

Pretty much, the best warranty on the road for your tires.

Wow that is pretty good. Most places prorate which is totally worthless in my opinion. What does their insurance cost?
