Saleen generally puts together nice packages. I don't understand the generic wheels on that Focus, though.

I wonder how much it costs because with $21K I could get a fast Neon SRT-4.

Actually those look a lot like the S7 rims. MSRP: $24,300. Pretty steep for a car that's otherwise half as much. It's gotta be really fast though. With bolt ons the Duratech (2.3L) engine is known to put down 14's. Add the giggly juice and ... you're into corvette speeds. Then again, the SRT can be modded to be wickedly fast for pretty cheap. I've seen a couple beating mid 90's Vipers/Corvettes. But you'd be driving a Neon.

1st, don't call the srt-4 a neon.
2nd...is that srt-4 nitrous ready? and i dunno bout everyone else, but I just don't get the styling of the focus 2dr hatchback. just not all that good looking. so, on top of that, I'm a bit conflicted on that spoiler. |

Why not? Just because it may be fast doesn't mean it's not built like a Neon. Car and Driver exaggerated how fast they were. Real world results indicate that they probably had a ringer. I don't think I've met a happy Neon driver. The SRT4 is too new to show the same annoyances that plague every Neon driver I know (00 or older. It has something to do with breaking down the day after the warranty expires). But give it a couple years. Even Dodge calls it a Neon. As for looks, I think that it's targeting a very specific audience. I'm iffy on the spoiler and that rear bumper too. It may not be for you. Last edited by InfiniteNothing : 03-15-2004 at 09:11 AM. |

I'd drive the SRT-4. The Saleen stuff is out there in styling, but it looks alright. Of course I'm not a huge fan of the focus period.

lol - i've got video of a guy trying to do a burnout in a focus - even after dupming severl bottles of bevrages on the front tires, he STILL couldnt get more than about half a rotation.
meanwhile, my buddy was doing a hichair burnout around him in circles on his R1. hehehe. That was a fun night.
