It would not have been that much against the officer until he spelled his own name out as ray pointed out. Having a tape recorder helps, and most states say you must and or it is a good diea to tell the officer he is being recorded and get his name and date of the stop. One of my car buddies has always carried a mini tape recorder in his car. He says he gets pulled over atleast twice a year but when he buts otu the tape recorder, he either A gets a warning, ro B gets a ticket and then get it thrown out do to a technicality.

Keep in mind that in many areas cops are recording both audio and video of their stops. Especially for things like drunk driving stops. Nothing gets a conviction better than a tape of the drunk guy attempting to walk the line. This is where shows like cops get so much of their footage.

Yeah, think of all the places you go into that have hidden cameras. Most of them don't have signs warning you that you are being taped. But this sounds like something that may vary from state to state.

I don't think it's illegal. In a court of law the recording could possibly be surpressed but that doesn't matter. The whole point of these things is to go public and put pressure on the parties involved to lay off the police officer.

Thanks to this article I dug aroud in my phone and found Ihave a record feature. I can record like 1800 seconds which is alot more than i thought it would be. PS I have an AWSOME t68i, i didnt take the stupid swap they offered me.
