So I checked out the Dodge Magnum RT

I gotta say..the car really does look nice on the outside.
It could use some bigger wheels and lower profile tires, but overall, I liked it.

The interior is another story..it did have leather seats..but the rest of the front cabin looked really cheap with seas of bland looking plastic. The steering wheel seemed kinda small and skinny too.

The cargo area was suprisingly small. I mean you can still haul a bunch of stuff in there, but it looked like it could hold more from the outside. Again, kinda cheap looking carpeting back there and the the back seats don't quite fold down flat.

I didn't get a chance to take it for a spin. I figured that if I hated the interior so much, what's the point of wasting the salesman's and my time when I knew I wasn't gonna buy it.

What is typical for Dodge's is the transmission dying in the first 65,000 miles. My parents have this crazy brand loyalty to Dodge and the reward they get for it is a serious of cars that develop serious problems by 75,000. I would lease a Dodge if I had the money, but I wouldn't buy one ever.

Canta, I suspect that chrysler products are going toward becoming more like mercedes products. For example the new 300c and the crossfire. The crossfire is blatently an slk, but I dont know anything for certain about the 300c. Its just that a lot of it looks like they share genes with an e or s class.

I dont know what your feelings and experiences are with MB, but I think thats a good thing for chrysler reliablilty

From my understanding, the chassis is based on the old Mercedes E class W210 platform.

I wonder why they didnt use the w211 chassis. I dont remeber the last time I drove a w210, but the w211 is solid and can actually be pretty fun

They didn't want to piss off the people who bought $65k w211s that their car shares parts with a cheaper car.

This is why they come with a 7 year 70,000 mile "powertrain" warranty.

I still love my HEMI though. She's a KEEPER!
