Unhappy HELP: rip in my passenger seat

I have a 1" rip in the woven fabric on my SpecV's passenger seat. Does anyone know of a good way to keep the rip from growing?

Find some matching thread and sew it? There was a tear in the driver seat of my Grand Prix when I bought it and the guy who had it before me did a crappy job at sewing it back up. I redid it and while you can still see that it was torn, it does not look hideous by any means.

Replacement seat covers are usually around $150 for so, at least that is what I was quoted.

Go to a professional shop for a quote to have the fabric redone. I had tear in my drivers seat and they redid the insulation and recovered it for like $120.
