So I know my car is getting old...

I personally hate buying new cars if possible. They are never a great investment. Anyhoo... that's beside the point. My 1995 Nissan is getting old. How do I know? The clear coat on my bumper that protects my paint is bubbling off (like a cheap quality auto glass tint). So what's the solution?

Well?

Uh Oh... better call Maaco???

(j/k... I'd never use "Maaco" myself... but hey, where else can you get a complete paint job for $399? )

Be careful with Maaco though, paint peels pretty quickly. A minor tap during parking and the paint comes right off. Hehe.

Since the 2005's are all about out, your car has hit a decade of use. You can always just figure you have gotten your use out of it and buy a new one or you can just invest in a nice paint job. It all depends on how many miles your car has on it, the overall condition, and whether or not its more important to just keep your old car or if you would like to get a new one.

well for a 10 year old car it has 113k miles... needs new brakes and that's about it... it's in great condition.

How much is a good paint job? And where?

Heck, full pressure spray from my standard garden hose took the paint off of one of my Maaco-painted cars.

I had the car painted when I was a student, and while it is a crappy paint job, I do have to say that I was happy with it "given the price". It was the best I could afford, and it did last a few years.

So shady. They need to be up front in disclosing this.

My friend sprayed his own car, and no not with spray paint. He has a compressor and a gun, and then bought some car paint. It turned out pretty good, no overspray, no drips.

Is it just your bumper/plastic parts, or is the hood oxidizing? If it's just the plastic parts, ask around at local performance shops for someone to pull the bumpers and repaint them-can't cost that much to paint just the bumpers.

My car is getting there...1999 civic and 117K miles on it. When I take it in, the mechanics are surprised on the good condition considering the mileage. I hope it lasts me several more years or maybe 250K miles
