The first step in taking care of your first bike is not laying it down : )

You can also check with the dealer to obtain a factory OWNERS manual (different from a service manual) and factory-recommended maintenance items and intervals.

You might also peruse http://www.gixxer.com/, they have several forums that may provide information...

yeh i might only need the owers manual and not the service manual. i had the service manual for my car but i dont plan on working on my bike. just wanted to know what type of fluids to use and stuff.

this is technically my second bike cause my first one got wrecked by my friend before i could get any real riding done.

For $40, it is worth having... I bet an owners manual from the Suzuki dealer would be at least that much.
