Did you get a police report? Do you know what it says? Are they going to hold you liable for all the cars that crunched behind you? I've never figured out who's at fault in an accident like this.

make sure you don't continue taking video footage yourself while you're driving.

damn, you are funny passwird.

I was rear ended yesterday too (weds). some b1tch was real close to my bumber and thought the light had turned and let off her brake on here 2002 lincoln LS sedan. I immediatly thought it was something I did, I thought i let out the clutch not thinking and kept the brake on and lurch forward, but then realized the clutch was still in. Got out and we exchanged insurance company and personal info. She farking pissed me off though, she was like "there is no damage" I was like bull****. some paint scrape, but no cops involved and I just called it a day.

The chp dude took statements from everyone and jotted down notes for a report that is supposed to be ready in 10 working days. Me liable? I don't think so. I didn't do anything wrong.

I guess "sharp" is a subjective term. Yeah, can only take 180-second long clips. My vids are mostly composed of clips that are no more than 20 secs long though.

Was that on the 60 or the 215 or what? The only St. Rt. 260 in California is somewhere up in Alameda County.

Gotta love the Riverside traffic. Your car seems to have come out fairly nice. How hard did the guy hit you?

So who is? It seems like way less work for the CHP to just blame it all on one guy.

Do you really not know how this all works?

Most liable is the person furthest back that hits someone. The most/nonresponsible person is the one who is furthest forward that does not make contact with the person in front of them. In Passwird's case he would be 100% not liable. He hit noone and is at no fault what so ever. The person in the back of the train would be like 60%, the person in front of him would be 40%, the one in front of him 20% and passwird the front runner with 0%.
Basically, if you cause it, its primarily your fault, but if you are so close to the guy in front of you that you hit him, that is some what your fault as well.

No, I have no idea how it works. So are they liable for their own car or the car they hit?
