My truck will soon be boosted.

What is this that we found on my doorstep after work yesterday?

http://www.shoeish.com/gallery/img/5c2c4dacbe01882c.jpg

Let's see what's inside:
http://www.shoeish.com/gallery/img/ec1f230d72aa1b58.jpg

Oh oh, that's a kenne bell supercharger for a 6.0 Liter Full size GM truck.
http://kennebell.net/superchargers/g...60/gm48-60.htm

Wait, *I* have one of those.

And with the hardware they sent, I can install it:

That makes me HAPPY.

More pictures are coming soon.

Wow... must be nice.

I wish that DC would git off their collective @sses and let out the secrets to supercharging the HEMI...

lots of tire smoke is coming soon.

Here, I fixed that last line for ya...

I saw the article in that very magazine the other night about the guy running tens in the 1/4 on stock tires with his... Using 4wd to launch with minimal wheelspin...

Definately an "outside-the-box" sleeper...

I highly doubt that a "kenne bell supercharger for a 6.0 Liter Full size GM truck" will even remotely fit on a 4 cylinder toyota...

Besides, when he says... "Wait, *I* have one of those." you can tell he is not referring to the supercharger, because he just received it... so he must be referring to the truck.

Hmm... "English language"... go figure.

...i have no freaking clue what that is.

although I thought that since the hot rod mag was on top of the box, the skimpy woman would be inside it...

I think the very same magazine houses that article..

Install Pictures:
The install went okay. Took us the whole weekend, about 13-14 hours of actual work. We could probably do it in five-six hours if we had to put one on another truck.

I ****ed up a solder and don't have my computer reflashed yet, so no results yet, but here are some pictures of the install.

Install Pictures:
Just getting into it:

Have to switch the valve covers from side to side so oil cap isn't under supercharger, the valve cover bolts are under crap they shouldn't be. Yay.

Now we can get to them:

Getting in a little deeper, no return now:

The instructions say you have to make this cable longer (to reach relocated throttle body), but we figured out an easier way. Unwrap a little plastic tube stuff and you're golden.

Finally time to drop the s/c into place:

Got the belt on, woohoo:

Almost done:

DONE! Except for wiring:

Cool! Be sure to post pics of the dyno slip (and/or tire smoke) when you get everything finished!

Well... for around $15,000 - $20,000 less... and around the same level of HP, sounds like a good deal to me.

But yet, they don't make an SRT-10 with 4x4 capabilities... Oh well...

Got the computer back, plugged it in, cycled the key a few times to pressure up the empty fuel rails, and the truck started RIGHT up. Very nice.

Let it warm up, added a few pints of coolant as the truck sucked it into the spots gravity couldn't, and took it for a spin.

The first trip out we didn't get on it at all, but the first thing I noticed was the incredible difference in power below 2500rpm and part throttle. It just scoots. Taking off from a stoplight when its wet without spinning is easy, but put your foot in and it lights both the back tires up for as long as you have your foot in it. Even backing down to part throttle it is still spinning.

It dried up a little for my drive to work this morning, and I let it have it. WOW. My crew cab chevy truck with 4x4 feels faster than a freaking lightning, exactly what i was hoping for.

Driveability is insane. No glitches, kenne bell really did a nice job with the computer retune. The blower is dead quiet until you put your foot into it. Then it emits a blower whine that is heaven. I love it. I'll put some video up when/if it dries up a little and I get a chance.

VIDEO!!!

Same video, two different qualities:
http://www.shoeish.com/video/truckscsmall.wmv - 3mb
http://www.shoeish.com/video/truckscbig.wmv -10mb

Remember, this is at 6800ft above sea level, stuff is slow up here. Boosted or not.
