best bet is to get one and just hide it somewhere unfindable unless they strip the car, you never know when road rage strikes

I don't know about the law, but I question the usefulness of one. If you're going to carry one on your person, that's one thing, but considering they're useless through windows and most carjackers I've read about brandish guns, they might be problematic.

There are too many crazies running around out there man. I've never been a position where I'd need one of these luckily but I've come close once or twice.

I think you missed my point. I'm all in favor of protecting yourself and understand the dangers out there. I have several friends with concealed carry permits, and know many that carry weapons in their car. I think that's a great idea.

My point was, if someone tries to carjack you, a stun gun will be next to useless. The barbs that are shot by the gun have to penetrate clothing, etc. They won't penetrate car windows like a pistol round can.

If the barbs fail of if you miss, you have to hold the Taser against the bad guy as a last-ditch effort. Chances are, he won't let you do that if he's armed. I could see one being useful to carry on your person, but I can't imagine their utility carried in a car.

I'm not looking for the ones that shoot things at people - and if somebody had a gun and wanted my car - I don't think I'd try to fight him...I'd just let the cops and lojack deal with it.

I got caught with a paintball gun in my car once - I had gone paintballing a few days earlier and just hadn't gotten around to taking it out. The cop said that if not for the fact that it was in about 15 pieces at the time, I would have been in a bit of trouble.

yea tank has to be separate or reg turned down, barrel has to be off, hopper has to be off... i travel with 2 guns when i go painbllling but i keep em in the trunk and they can't search my ****
