They didn't do much to it, slapped a 5.4l in it, put a twin screw low PSI super and put some plastic airdams along with a stripe...wow.

I think is is a really nice looking car. But like most mustangs, I'm sure one light rain and all you do is sit there spinning your tires all day.

Man, I hate to see the mark up on that car. I think the Cobra-Rs went for 70Ks

You can buy an original "Eleanor" for a mere $147k. The new old Eleanors take either an original 1967 or 68 Ford Mustang Fastback and then the team at Unique Performance strips the car to its bare bone chasis and then rebuilds it with contemporary manufacturing techniques and modern improvements. Power for he renewed Mustang comes from teh Shleby tuned 408 cu. in. Ford Windsor V-8 fitted with fuel injection. The engine is capable of cranking out 475 bho at 6000rpm and 490 l.ft of torque at 4500rpm. The TKO-600 5-speed manual transmission is on duty to send all of the cars power to the rear via the Currie 31 Spline with Trac-lock differential.
Grips is provided by front 245/40ZR-17 and rear 275/40ZR-17. The steering is upgraded to rack and pinion, while the suspension is significantly revised and update all around for better handling. Leading the way up front are independent upper an dlower A-arms, coil over springs and shocks. Bringin up the rear is a live axle with coil-over springs an dshocks in a setup derived from procen vintage Mustang racing experience. The Shelby G.T.500E's body is constructed of sheet metal and fiberglass and retains the classic lines of hte 1967 Mustang Fastback. A JBA side exhaust is installed to complete the aggressive look. ON the inside, the 1960's interior remains intact. The seats are vinyl and the dash is made of aluminum with Auto Meter gauges. And of course, the 15-in LaCarra woodrim steering wheel adds to the original muscle-car feel. The Sony steroeo with CD player is one modern amenity that is out of place but much welcomed. 475 bhp 0 - 60 in 4.2 secs. 1/4 mile in 12.5sec with the speedo sweeping past 114.0 mph. 60 - 0 in 138ft. Taken from Road and Track, April 2005 p.63. There you go. BTW, they have the new Mustang GT-R listed at an estimated $175k!

And yes, it does look better that way. Just like police/firemen don't wear their badges in the middle neither does the car. |

![]() ![]() Grill looks empty to me. They didn't stay too faithful either.. the fogs lights are where the parking lights were, the parking lights are in the bumper, and there is no chrome at all. There's no scoops, instead there's heat extracting vents. And lastly, there no hood pins which was one of the signatures of the GT500. |

I like the new one WAY better, but as a rule I like new cars as opposed to old cars. With THE JUDGE as an exception.

on the liking the new one WAY better comment. I tend to like the 60's muscle cars better than their newer replacements, especially in the case of THE JUDGE. Hell last years GTO shouldn't even be called a GTO cause it was missing the scoops. |
