WTF is wrong with kids nowaday? I didn't have a car until mid senior year and it was a beat up 1981 Audi 5000S.

He should have sold the M3 and get the Chrysler 300 with a HEMI. It looks like a Bentley.

What a jackwad. If I were his parents, I'd make him get a job at McDonalds to pay for his own car. Get a little tase of the real world. Maybe charge him rent, too.

Unfortunately, his parents are what is wrong with this kid to begin with. Someone taught him to be a materialistis little sh*twad and it wasn't his kindergarten teacher. This car was more $ than we paid for our first house. Kids don't come out of the womb being morons. It took his parents 17 years to get a perfect model of a selfish, lazy irresponsible brat. I hope they get him a vascectomy so he can't pass his useless genes on to some unsuspecting baby.

lol....why are you so mad? his family has money somehow, and as long as it wasn't earned by killing people, they (the parents) have all right to spend it as they wish (being 'generous' to their son.

maybe you give an percentage of your income as allowance to your kids...
they do too.

There is a difference in being generous and spoiling your kids rotten. Most parents who are generous don't have kids who are oblivious to common sense and the law. This kid sounds to have gotten every thing he wanted handed to him. Kids tend to take better care of things when they had to actually work for them.

After this car scam, this kid's Mom and Dad should put him on the street without a car. It would be a great lesson for this spoiled brat.

Sorry, guess I wasn't too clear. Obviously the son's actions are not to be commended (to say the least,) but it seems as if some people also had qualms about the son having an M3 to begin with. All I meant to say is that money isn't necessarily bad, and (in my opinion), it isn't always benefitial to correlate negative behaviour with money. Some may argue this type of lying/stealing goes on independent of how much wealth one has...

I am not a big car fanatic(definite guy thing) I can guess by the comments that a M3 is a big deal. I would compare it to someone in my high school class getting a brand new '66 Corvette. Your common parent with 1/2 a brain does not give a souped up car to a 17 year old unless its a reward for finding a cure for cancer Kids are kids and I don't care how good, you give a 17 yo this car and you are asking for trouble. And I think this is true even with the most responsible one on the block which this kid obviously wasn't.
What it boils down to ,in my opinion, is the parents started this whole mess off with a tremendous lack of common sense. There is nothing wrong with a parent wanting to give their kid a car but use your brain when you do it. Think it through to the worse case scenario and act accordingly.

I drove a gosh darn 1986 Chevy Caprice Classic that I paid my parents for. I paid for my gas, my insurance, and anything else I wanted on the car. Now...they helped out in the repairs department...but that was a given...the car's valves were going shot.

Stupid yuppie kid.

My first car was a 1956 Plymouth station wagon with a PUSH BUTTON transmission! Top that! The only reason I got a car for graduation was because I got a scholarship to Beauty College. I paid for my own gas but my parents paid for insurance(they wanted to make sure I had some) Of course I could put $5 worth of gas in it and drive for a week.) O for the good ole days!

My first car was a 79 cutlass salon that stalled at stop signs.

Mine was old but ran like a top because my dad was an Electrician/jack-of-all trades in the Navy and he could fix anything. I drove the cr*p out of it for 2 years then got my DREAM car a ' 66 Dodge Dart convertible.
