Don't know about your neck of the woods, but the rise here has been gradual...and has somewhat mirrored the move up in oil prices. It's gone up $.16, but took more than 4 days. Just saw the chart, thought it seemed like a decent move down.

Around me, the gas stations did their usual pre-holiday gas spike a bit before Christmas (went up from about 2.15 to around 3.35), but the price has been dropping a bit of late (down to 2.23-2.29 range). I expect to see it drop more next week, since the second week of most schools' break ends this week (along with the crude price dropping).

With the barrel of oil slide today on the NYMEX under $56 a barrel, should see a drop in prices on the gasoline end.

I'm not typically one to join a long line to save a few cents on gas, so if one place is offering $2.46 and the one across the street is $2.48 with no line, I'll pay the extra $0.60 to fill my 20 gallon tank and get the heck out of there a few minutes quicker. I think there are plenty of other less inconveniet ways for me to make up the $0.60 difference (that's assuming I care about 60 cents to begin with... )

$2.59 at Costco here on Oahu. I have seen it as high as $2.90, though.

They still have 85? I thought that was long gone. I remember the days of leaded gas, too. ![]() |

Me too, barely though. My grandfather started a family business back in the 70s to upgrade gas stations when unleaded and it's various grades started to appear. Storage tanks, piping, pumps, awnings, concrete work, etc. They were busy as hell right up through the late 80s but when he died in '89 my family dissolved the business. So if anyone ever feels like building your own gas station, my father and uncle are the guys to ask for advice. ![]() |

On the way to the airport in San Diego, we paid $2.59. Here in Castle Rock Colorado, I paid $2.12. But you know I think food here is very expensive compared to home. So I guess it all evens out.

Never knew that. Thanks for the heads up. I remember as a kid, putting leaded fuel in my moped and wondering what "unleaded" was. That was also back when it was about $.80/gallon. Ahh, the good ol' days... |

I remember using leaded for scooters and mopeds. As far as the higher altitudes go - b/c the air is thinner the engines produce less hp and tq than they would at sea level. |

The slide continues. Let's hope the warm weather keeps up, especially in the NE.
