I've owned two Maximas and loved both of them. Don't have anything negative to say at all. Fun to drive, enough room to haul a few folks around...

I like the way the new ones look too...

Good luck!

My Brothers has owned Nissan Maximas since 1986... and is very happy with them. I think he is on his third one now (he kept the first one for like 11 years)

Basically it's the sports car with 4 doors.

I got one and i know a lot of people with them.

Personally i think its a great mix of something with kick and a practical car for karting people and stuff around. Go for Maxima over ALtima anyday imho. ALtima's interior is usually cheap looking compared to the maxima.

That's what I drive. Never had any problems with it and it's a beast on the road. Highly recommended.

looks like you're getting yourself a maxima ladyluck. =)

just one thing... do you want that large of a car to drive. have u taken it for a test drive yet? do you need to parallel park at all? give it a test drive, and see how comfortable you are in that size of a car.

If you want a little more bang for the buck, check out the G35 sedan too. The G is basically the RWD sister to the FWD Maxima.

For similarly equipped cars, less than $1500 more for the G35 based on CarsDirect.com pricing.

A co-worker friend of mine has an '04 Max and he has had some problems with his max and Nissan has yet to fix them. I have had some problems with my Altima and I have run into the same "brick wall" with Nissan consumer affairs.

Hmmm... I'd thought it would be a bit more than that. But ok...

I'd thought that that usually the Infinity is about $3,000 - $10,000 more than it's "Nissan Cousins".

I would pick the base G35 sedan over the top of the line Maxima. It has more hp and rear wheel drive. Infinity customer service is top notch while Nissan service is dead last.

we have a nissan quest that we bought brand new last year. the thing, according to whoever ranks these things, was the worst vehicle in initial quality along w/the VW taurag (speeled wrong i'm sure).

my local dealership has done a great job of taking care of us but we went to another one when on vacation and they sucked major a$$.

however, the engine that is in the maxima is consistantly rated very highly. it's mostly body/door/electronics problems that nissan has. not engine issues.

My engine on my Altima (same as all the other Nissan V6 engines) is burning oil. The engine was supposed to be highly rated, though.

You know what they say about assumptions...hehe. It's all about doing research and keeping an eye out on prices and incentives.

My assumption eh? Hmm...

I'm not in the market for that car... therefore I was strictly stating a generality amongst regular versus premium brand cars (i.e. Nissan/Infinity, Toyota/Lexus, Ford/Lincoln, Chevy/Cadillac, etc...)

The price ranges I gave you are somewhat good for many of those comparisons... But great for you for finding one that is under that generality.

/me claps for you... <clap> <clap> <clap>

Have you gotten your new car yet, Ladyluck? I'm considering the same one when my current lease expires next year - I really like the Maximas.

I was considering the G35 as well, but it's smaller on the inside - a consideration since I have 3 kids that won't fit into the G35 but will be OK in the Maxima. If it was JUST me driving, then yeah, the G35 would be perfect. But on those rare occasions when the minivan is otherwise occupied, I need to be able to cram all of the kids in my back seat.

Does the maxima require 91 octane gasoline?
