I listened to a radio interview today of someone claiming to be an energy expert. He said gasoline prices would fall to $2.50 soon, but that next Spring they would be back up past $3 a gallon.

but fall a little less and rise the same so we get a staggered linear curve. It's conditioning.

It's still high in New Orleans (I'm back in town this weekend). But $2.59(reg)/2.69(med)/2.79(prem) or so is the standard for rural areas in LA I've found. The city where I'm working (Jackson) only has 2 stations, an Exxon and a Mobil, right across the street from each other. Yes, they're the same company with the same gas, but different franchises. So if one guy drops his price, the other does as well. Keeps prices low. If you go 5 miles in either direction, the prices rise 10-20 cents. Good for me, as I have to commute to NOLA or to MS each weekend.
![]() I'm looking forward to the drop in prices to start hitting here. I'd love to fill up at $2.25 or so for premium. Damn luxury cars and their fancy diets. |

On our way back from Colorado ,we saw gas as low as $2.35. That was in Arizona. Was pleasantly surprized to get home and see it was down to $2.63. (El Cajon, CA)
