I forget the name of the restaurant chain...something Skillet. They have the best turnip greens.

Well if we're talking ham hocks, I usually do green beans or navy beans with that.

Poke

Speaking of greens, when I was little in the midwest, we used to pull Poke plants and wild scallions and my mom would use them in beans or steamed like spinach. You can buy it canned but it is hard to find. Has anyone ever eaten Poke?

I clicked on the link you posted. I guess my mom knew how to cook it or that explains why we were sick a lot! I had no idea poke could be that toxic. I got a can of it recently at Ralph's. I guess perhaps it isn't such a good idea to pick your own.
