Well, at 6:00pm, hopefully my son's high school volleyball team (currently 3rd ranked in the state) will be chewing up the currently first ranked team. As for what we'll be dining on after that, I haven't asked my wife.

I'm throwing some steak and a sweet potato on the grill.
(to cook the sweet potato, I wrap it in tinfoil, slice it in many slices but not all the way through, insert a piece of sweet onion in between the slices, salt and pepper it, then shave butter over the top, wrap it up totally and stick it on the grill till the potato is soft. It gets a nice crunchy bottom on it!...mmmmm (yes, I'll start it before I throw the steak on!)

Why wrap it up in tinfoil then slice it up? (I can't help it - it's the engineer mindset. )

I don't think this'll stop anything though - the better you idiot-proof a system, the more impressive the idiot becomes.

Well, it was all good. My son's volleyball team humiliated the number 1 ranked team 25-13 in the first game, and won 25-13 in the second.

For dinner, my wife had made a huge sandwich (sliced across a big round wheat loaf (Seeded Harvest Boule from Trader Joe's) for about 6 layers, put stuff in the layers (ham & swiss & mustard, beef & horseradish, bacon and mayo and tomato, ham & cheddar and onion), sprayed with olive oil and heated for 20 minutes in a 400 degree oven (with loose foil over it) to get crispy. Then cut into wedges. It was really good (had a glass of chilled riesling with it).

Hmm, ended up having to run to payless for Audrey so we stopped at Sonic. She has a choir thing on Thursday and needed black shoes.

I wanted to make baked potatoes tonight - chicken, broccoli, cheese, and other toppings but oh well. Maybe Friday.
